Sir your videos are fantastic. I have been binge watching them for quite some time now. I will be heading to IBOLC next year and want to start preparing. Can you please offer some advice for IBOLC, Ranger, and being a PL. I have learned a lot from the fieldcraft videos w/ Sergeant Craig (I apologize if name and rank is wrong). I am also interested in anything you guys have to say about: - Packing an operational ruck (one for the field) - Gear/Equipment that has made the difference for you - OPORD and briefing tips - More fieldcraft

Awesome man. The Infantry is proud of you and America is proud of you. - Operational Ruck is next in the queue. - an asip headset like amzn.to/2LpyeeP you can also add an ear piece to a "COP" mic for like $15. - a wrist compass amzn.to/2YjPpnb to check your azimuth often on the move. mine is combined with a wrist board with grids and pre planned targets and junk. - I'll make some OPORD videos for you. For IBOLC, don't procrastinate to where you're still working on it the morning of your briefing. For Ranger, understand task to subordinates and have your entire squad/plt working on clear tasks with time hacks during the planning process. Make sure you're running and rucking as part of your preparation and keep up the good work.

Your videos are amazing, and I just wanted to start off by saying thank you for seemingly such simple but amazing tips. Do you have any recommendations on a good pt program to look into that can help prepare you in stages for ranger school/ jump school? I have always wanted to be in the sof community since freshman year of hs, and I am getting myself in the best shape both mentally & physically. I am actually 5'7 myself so I can actually apply the sizing your ruck straps vid perfectly to my own body. As for training it is extremely hard to get weight training in with all the gyms being no go zones thanks to the gov/covid. However I know from previous pt tests in law enforcement as a special & just for training over the years that my pushups, pullups, or sit ups are great, but my main concern is getting better with my running and rucking. I have asthma which is in remission & I actively practice my breathing so that doesn't limit me. I also have lower back pain with flat feet which leads to getting a dumb amount of shin splints. So I already have my own obstacles to over come before even beginning to head down the pipe line. So any recommendations on how to avoid shin splints, and just in general how I should specially tailor my training would be extra helpful!

Turn the waterproof bag inside out and spray it all down with Flex Seal works like a charm. Also inside of the top flap of your alice pack the waterproof portion of it. Thank you Brent 0331👍👍

Thanks for posting this! I’m not able to join the military, due to health trouble and the physical disability it caused. But, I like the military style gear (currently I just have a military style 3 day assault pack, not an issued one though). But, now that I found a company that sells kit that isn’t issued gear to the general public, I’d like to slowly buy as much of that gear that I can. I like the quality, durability and space of the packs, and I’m assuming the quality of the kit is as good as well. I’m hoping to buy kit to eventually get a bush-craft kit put together. Videos like this helps me learn how to load my “3 day assault pack”.

What would be the best way to pack your ruck with a 5 layer sleep system? With that in mind, the ruck will be about 40+ pounds, what kind of training would you recommend?
@299scouts8

General rules of thumb is heaviest things up top and closer to your spine. kzitem.info/news/bejne/mIF6qq6lsGWpo6g For training you can shoot for a ruck run once a week, trying to shoot for 15 minute/miles. Don't kill yourself on speed or distance and be aware of impact on your knees. For example, I don't run downhill in training. You can wear your ruck for hikes in the woods at your own pace. Even a slow hike will build up your shoulders and core.

The pocket on the bottom is purpose built to hold the issue sleep system. Of course, that's if it's packed in it's compression bag. Better to just cram it in. The loose parts will squish, just as the guy just showed us. BTW, I got a comp bag with a bivy and patrol bag, and it sucks.

Robert Šijanski it’s called a MOLLE ruck, the army issues them so if you’re joining the army or plan to they go for about $200. But if you wanna ruck for fun I highly recommend not to get one and get a ALICE ruck instead.
