When it comes to Padma, how can we forget Mirabai? In this dance, Meerabai's devotion, passion and faith towards Lord Krishna can be seen.
At the beginning of the dance, Meerabai dances by tying anklets on her feet, being engrossed in devotional juice. Meera says that I am the maidservant of my Narayan. Who holds conch, chakra, mace and lotus in hand; I am the servant of the one who lifted the Govardhan mountain on the little finger. Meerabai plucks flowers and makes a necklace for Krishna and wears the Lord, applies sandalwood tika and performs aarti.
Her brother-in-law Rana Vikram Aditya gets angry seeing Mirabai's devotion leading a modest and simple life, he calls the servant and orders the servant to drink a bowl of poison to Meerabai. Meerabai, engrossed in devotion to Krishna, laughs and drinks a bowl of zer. In the last phase of Padam, the people of the village call Meera Baanwari, the people of the society narrate her good and bad by calling her the destroyer of the clan. Yet Meera, who considers herself to be the maidservant of Krishna, dances with the idol of God in her hand....
