On our last day with Joe's brother Dave and his wife Myr, we went kayaking. We started at Ao Nang Beach and went to Tonsai Beach and to a small hidden beach called Minaos Beach. It was unbelievably beautiful.
Before we started, we saw a bunch of monkeys. The babies were adorable, but all of the monkeys were so aggressive. We were happy to get some great kayaks right at Ao Nang Beach. Mom, Dad, Jake, and Grace were in one kayak while Sam, Ben, and Jake were in another. We paddled through several small islands topped with lush rainforests, under cliffs with stalactites overhead, and through the beautiful waters of Thailand.
After enjoying Tonsai beach, we went to a small island that felt like our own private, secret beach. The kids had fun exploring the tidepools and rocks, playing on the swing, and building things in the sand. Ben made a cool sandcastle, Jake made a cute little turtle ornamented with small shells, and Sam made an amazing sunflower. Even Grace participated as she built in the sand. The kids also enjoyed burying each other in the sand.
For lunch, we headed back to Tonsai Beach and enjoyed some delicious food at the Legacy Restaurant. We loved the Nutella shake, watermelon and mango smoothies, and many delicious Thai dishes (Panang curry, Masaman curry, Tom Sum salad, and more). It was an amazing day!
