After watching about 15 of your videos in 2 days, I have found a new way to relax. With the anxiety I was having last night, watching this whole process made me forget all about my problems for a little bit. I also love the finished products you make, always shiny and satisfying. bigstackD Casting mainly aluminum. Did cast iron once just for the challenge. If you're meaning about the salt, just regular table salt it melts I don't know around eight or nine hundred degrees Fahrenheit. It covers the metal and helps with losses due to oxygen

With holes like the one you had to fix in this bar, have you considered using the powders you save after grinding? Being powdered like that I'd assume they'd be a bit easier to liquefy than larger pieces of the same metals, and would allow you to keep the bar pure.
@bigstackD
5 жыл бұрын
I can’t put the powder into the holes because the burner blows the powder everywhere . although there would be a lot easier way than I did it I’m sure👍🏻
@LunkovichTromofski
5 жыл бұрын
@@bigstackD Makes sense, though possibly use the powder to make an extra small batch, use the hole to "measure" the amount of powder needed then put that plus maybe 25% more into your smallest crucible to melt down and pour back into the whole? Not telling you how to do what you do just spit balling ideas.
