PAGSANJAN FALLS
Pagsanjan Falls, also known as Cavinti Falls or Magdapio Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls in the Philippines. Located in the province of Laguna, the falls is one of the major tourist attractions of the region. The almost 90 meters waterfall is reached by a river trip on by a canoe, known locally as Shooting the rapids, originating from the municipality of Pagsanjan where the boat passes quickly through a flowing water of the river with an extent of 17 km from the starting point to main falls. The falls can also be reached from the top by a short hike from Cavinti commonly referred through as trekking.
Two skilled and licensed boatmen takes one to three passengers on wooden, long, narrow canoes to the falls, which could take almost two hours of paddling upstream depending on speed of the water current and water level. The journey takes passengers through the narrow and verdant Pagsanjan river lined with huge boulders, rocks and several small waterfalls. Upon reaching the foot of the main falls or Pagsanjan falls, the visitors take the raft going to the cave by passing through the falls.
The adventure is enjoyable and the scenery is breathtaking as if there is a "paradise on Earth". For a span of a short moment a deep feeling of relaxation is felt, free from the stresses of life.
