What I love about your paintings is that one doesn't have to invest in a bunch of different things. Just paint and water, and something to pour it on. :) Thank you for this!

I get that you explained how your made the paint mixture, but I kind of wanted to see the process. And yes, indeed, I do hope you do more of these, Molly. Thank you for sharing this beautiful painting. :)

these are my favorite types of pours to do! they end up looking like geodes and marbles! i do them on small canvases like 8x8 or 10x10 and i do multiple ones in different colors and hang them all together! I'm planning on doing a bigger one like this as a back ground and then put a quote on it to put above my headboard. absolutely gorgeous!

How long do they take to dry? Any tips to make sure it dries well?
@thatjerseyb
2 жыл бұрын
@@SaraLo_1 depends on different factors. The smaller ones dry in about 12 hours on average, but if you use a lot of paint or the paint is thick, it can take longer. Whatever you do, do NOT put a fan on a painting to make it dry faster. It will dry the outer layer and it will crack the paint. And thicker paints will crack easier than thin paints. Pour painting is one of those things where it’s different for everyone so experimenting helps to figure out what works best for you in your situation.

Oooh. I love that whole marbley ocean feel to it and I love those colors. I'm glad you didn't add any gold to this one. It reminds a little of when you see the ocean from above and there's all those different shades because of the currents and temperature fluctuation. I just love this painting. Okay I do love all your paintings but some more than others. :) You asked for suggestions, I would love to see one like this in yellows and orange, reds, pinks, like one of those flaming sunsets.

You just happened to pop up in my feed, and I am so thrilled that I watched this. This is just simply beautiful. I see a few people have asked for the ratio of paint to water. I decided to google to see what I came up with, and this is what I found...Begin mixing using these basic ratio guidelines and adjust until mixture is thin enough to flow easily off of surface when poured: fluid acrylics: 2:1 Paint to Pouring Medium; craft acrylics: 1:1 Paint to Pouring Medium; medium body acrylics: 1:3 Paint to Pouring Medium; heavy body acrylics: 1:6 Paint to Pouring Medium. I am going to try this, as I think it would be so fun and messy, and a trip down memory lane to childhood for me, and probably many others. Hope the ratios help. Thank you Molly. My cat is called Molly too.:)
