I watched your Pt. 8.5 where you described the front suspension and wondered how long it would be before your front uprights failed! It actually looks from the video (although it's a bit fuzzy) that the welds began to fail quite a while before finally letting go. Lucky you weren't full noise at the time. Anyway, nice job fixing the (poor) initial design. It would be a good idea to have the whole part heat treated and tempered for consistent properties but you might need to remake them out of material with known properties. Remember, the only property that 'mild' or 'construction' grade steel has is it's cheap price, all the other good stuff is way more expensive, which is why the pro's use it.

Hey dude, great build. FYI, watch out driving it around in your neighborhood like that. You're on borrowed time until someone calls you in, and then you'll be on lock-down. Ask me how I know :)

If you have any issues again with those front spindles maken the axle ruffly 2" longer and weld a plate on the back so the pressure isn't all on one face

Jimbo just a FYI, I think under hard use you'r going to continue to have trouble with those knuckles/axles and may cause for a dangerous situation at high speed or mild jumps. Those axles should be case hardened. It creates the outer metal to be under high pressure and the inside under high tension making for a much stronger axle... Just my 2 cents PEACE

@@jimkhana6881 I’m working on a setup which would allow me to meet my top end speeds. With the racing clutch and a few more boosties I might be in the 110-120 ballpark myself. We’re deff gonna have to make that race happed 😁

Hi Jimbo how much would this new spindle cost with hub the only thing I would change on it is have the top rod end same as bottom mount can you build one with both mounts the same and with a center to center mounting space at 8 inch apart on the rod ends thanks let me know thanks.
@jimkhana6881

Around 250$. You'd have to get me your caliper and steering tab geometry...unless you'd weld those in yourself

@@jimkhana6881 $250 for two spindles and hubs and yes I could do the steering tab and maybe caliper tab can you build a spindle with both rod ends like your bottom mount and at 8 inches apart.

Ooooh hubs too. Those are a pain in the ass to build. Id have to do 500 for it all. I can build them however you like though. The upper link works for my buggy because the upper arm is just locating the knuckle...not taking too much load. If I had a long travel buggy jumping ramps, I would have boxed the top side in as well
