In this video, I’ll be discussing what Belle (from Beauty and the Beast) would have looked like, had she been historically accurate. Comment down below who you would like to see me draw next.
~Belle’s Ballgown~
Belle wears an embroidered Robe a la Francaise of golden silk; trimmed with white lace, and decorated with gold embellishments. Her hair is worn in a loose Tête du Mouton style, with small gold flowers.
~Belle’s Village Dress~
Belle wears a light blue, over petticoat and a pair of blue stays, over a white chemise (A jacket could have been worn in colder weather, but it was acceptable for working class ladies to wear their stays on display in warmer weather). She also wears a white fichu, brown buckled shoes with white stockings, and a white, patterned, linen apron. Her hair is worn up in a bun, with some loose hair hanging over her shoulders; and she wears a lace cap under a straw Bergere hat with blue ribbons.
