I'm watching this vlogmas in the airport while I wait for my flight back home, after traveling to see a Paul McCartney concert, and you bring up your dad being a Beatles fan, what a coincidence! Hugs from Brasil!!

Thank you so much for doing this vlogmas and especially the mention of just sitting down and putting paint on paper. I did exactly that after I watched your video and while my paper is not earth shattering, it is a beginning of something creative and just the push I needed.

Why is the Ringo piece so accurate both as a stylised portrait and a cutting caricature

it's so funny. in Manhattan finding a thrift shop that's not a designer store in disguise is almost unheard of. and the ones that are actual thrift stores are v small and have v few categories, cz rent is blood money in NYC. so when ppl say thrift store, it'll cost me more to go to a location that has thrift stores that would fit my need. for arts and crafts of every level there's a neighborhood. you'll find v expensive fabric remnants, bulk sale items sold individually etc. the entirety of 38th st from 6th Ave to 8th Ave is fabric stores. avenue blocks are much larger than St blocks. a 2 Ave row of fabric stores enable me to get every kind of fabric without compromising. it's so wild how different metropolitans are from suburbs. it's not just residential and social differences. there's also a consumption difference. which makes sense. like when ppl say $40 is expensive for nails, i want to remind them rhat Big Mac meal is $18 with tax in Manhattan.
