I think this video is really fabulous and so are the movements made by the accordeonists. They really make my day and even bring tears to my eyes. You are so wonderful!

It's the Fields of Athenry. Big Song here in Northern Ireland...A Line from the song is "I rebelled against the famine and the Crown" which is why Celtic Fans sing it....Bloody great wee Accordian Band anyway, I'll be looking out for their CD on the Glorious 12th ( which is the 13th this Year )...Its Ireland...dont ask !!

Baillie, it is my Culture. Here in Northern Ireland we have learned to respect each others backgrounds which people are actually proud of as individuals. It's the way forward and why we are on the Path to lasting Peace. Very few people here "hate" for religion ( There werent too many suicide Bombers in Northern Ireland) which indicates how commited some of them were. We have moved on from those days, which is great for those of us who lived in NI right through them.

The music is quite stimulating and from what I can observe is being played properly when I see the three fingers being used for the chords. Its quite beautiful and it can lend strength to the actual faith in a way. But I would never sell myself off to any particular belief because they dont make sense most of them

I kno what the song is mate and I kno all the lines of it. The line you are referring to is actually "against the famine and the crown, I rebelled, they ran me down." but the song you are listening to in this video is "Fathers Advice" It has the line.. "for those rebels once again, to unite us is their aim." Yes, I kno about the mix up with the dates this year, as I am coming over with my local band to a place called Bushmills outside of Belfast. No Surrender.

dont think i could agree with you about people not hating for religion but you are right it is your tradition.the man that was kicked to death after the old firm game is an example of this hatred.i really hope no more people are killed because they are catholic or protestant.enjoy your day.

You will know that it is an Anti British song, set during the Irish famine, and when Bands first started to play it in the Loyalist Parades here, there were a few raised Eyebrows ! It was written in the 1970's and was actually in the Irish Hit Parade. Bushmills is on the north coast, where the best Whiskey in the world is distilled. And I will be having a few over the 12th. You will be about 55 miles from the main Parade on The Big Day.

if this is what you believe in you are entitled to it. repect has to be earned and its hard to respect people who hate you for your religion.when i hear about indoctrination then you see it all here and thats sad. it takes on an air of hatred and bigotry and nothing to be proud of.

WE don't hate Catholics. We hate their church. Big difference. Pedo priests are the scum of the earth, and many RCs agree...
