@@nileshsingh3085 Brother if you remember in those days generally teams toured the other country in 4 years. So Pak had to tour India as they toured last in 87. The tour in 91 got cancelled due to reasons we know. Then Eng had to tour Pak. But due to the Gulf war in Iraq that tour also got cancelled. And imagine the next time Eng toured Pak was in 2000. After 13 years.. This is where your board has to convince the other boards and these skills matter a lot. Or find any other team to tour but it was understandably difficult because SAF & Zimb had not yet stepped into tests hence their were very few options. This team and the 1999 WC team had the potential to win all three World Cups (1999, 2003 & 2007) but sadly Pakistan cricket had always been plagued with controversy and internal politics be it tussles between players for captaincy, spots in the starting 11, personal enmities, mismanagement and managerial inconsistency, instability in the board, conflicting egos, spot fixing and match fixing, corruption, confidence, form and fitness issues and the list of factors on and off the pitch goes on and on. Wasim and Waqar couldn't put their egos aside and function as team members. Amir and Asif couldn't keep their hands off the cookie jar. With Akhtar and supporting pacers like Razzaq, Sami, Azhar Mehmood, Gul etc and spinners in Saqlain, Mushtaq, Afridi, Ajmal, Malik, Hafeez etc.. Pakistan had always been blessed with the best bowling lineups in the history of cricket and one of the most consistent batting lineups with Inzi, Younis and Yousif in the middle. With matchwinners and explosive star players like Afridi and Razzak with the bat, bowl and in the field and surprise packages like Imran Nazir who was undoubtedly one of the best fielders ever and a reliable opener.. and speaking of openers, pairing any player like Afridi with Saeed Anwar and having the formidable duo of Moin and Latif behind the wicket and in the lower batting order, Pakistani cricketing squads from the mid 90's and early 2000's were among the best of the best!

Saath mei internal political aur off the pitch controversies hamesha kaam kharab ker daitee hain. If only we could avoided these problems, we'd have had at least a couple of great finals among the two cricketing giants instead of having each getting annihilated in the finals against Australia. Both India and Pakistan had "once in a lifetime" level quality squads both at the same era at least thrice but our dressing room and board level politics got the better of us and teams like Australia and even Sri Lanka took advantage of our missed opportunities for decades in a row.
