Pakistan's iCube-Qamar, the country's first lunar satellite, has transmitted its inaugural images from the lunar orbit. Launched as part of China's Chang'e-6 mission, the satellite entered the moon's orbit successfully on May 8th.
Developed by Islamabad's Institute of Space Technology in collaboration with China's Shanghai University and Pakistan's national space agency Suparco, the iCube-Q orbiter features two optical cameras to capture lunar surface images. Operating in extreme temperatures, it aims to provide crucial data on crater locations, water, and traces of ice on the moon's surface.
