I enjoy this channel and have been invested in Palantir since the IPO. I too get annoyed at the political rants in the earnings call. But I would have focused this video away from communism, china, russia, SA to the remarkable things that PLTR has achieved in the commercial and non-military governmental sectors. They were instrumental in vaccine distribution across both the US and the UK. In fact, the NHS is considering giving them a long-term almost billion dollar contract and has already used them in reducing waiting lists for surgery. They've made deals with health systems around the country including the Mayo clinic, NIH, CDC. Their FoundryCon exposition featuring representatives from dozens of major companies showed how transformative their products can be in the commercial world. Tyson foods had $200 million in savings in one year that it attributed to Foundry. Every day is a new use case for PLTR - Crypto fraud, IRS/tax fraud, pandemic early warning systems and viral mutation surveillance, energy grid security. The number of use cases to solving real world problems is nearly endless.

As a regular viewer you know we focus on red flags and leave the positives to be elaborated upon by the 420 channels out there that espouse the Palantir bull thesis. Revenue growth and net retention rate are the metrics which ultimately tell investors how useful the solution is. We did take note of the cost savings at Tyson and the other use cases the platform is being used for. What seemed more pressing was trying to understand where Karp is coming from with his political rants which ended up just being a rabbit hole. We can't help but wonder where he prioritizes shareholders in his hierarchy of stakeholders. RPA also has "endless" use cases. Plenty of solutions do. It's a given that these platforms do useful things, but is management capable of maximizing the value added to shareholders above their personal belief systems?

@@Nanalyze His personal belief system about western values and data protections which put limitations on the government side don't seem to place any short-term limitations on the potential for commercial sector growth. I haven't seen a non-military contract which was influenced specifically by Karp's personal politics.

Until he starts refusing to do business with companies that choose to do business with China or Russia, or companies that don't support whatever country he thinks they ought to be supporting. His comment, "I think outside the U.S., they're a lot less friendly to new innovations” is telling. His personal belief system will very clearly impact the way he runs the company, but less on the commercial side as you pointed out. So that just underscores the importance of commercial being a majority of revenues before we would consider investing.

You should stop trying to find problems and start to work with those who are solving the problems. Proud to own 10k shares and ready to pass through a recession. Good chance

That's the wrong approach to take if you want to be a successful investor. You better be always looking at your holdings with a critical eye, especially those you are most bullish about. Telling people you own 10K shares tells them nothing because it has no context. Telling them it's X% of your overall portfolio is more useful information.

Good points - no position yet in this company but again you seem very bias on the geopolitics/politics piece its part of their DNA its part of their mission(they tell you that) - for another company sure valid point but for palantir it cannot be separated - i hope Karp proves you wrong one day and the company starts talking with serious top line growth - it is currently childs play but it will happen slowly then all at once.
@Nanalyze

Companies should not be involved in politics/geopolitics because it is a major external risk that cannot be controlled. We don't make special exceptions, else what's the point of having an objective methodology? Hopefully the company does well and we'll take another look when commercial becomes more dominant. The "slowly then all at once" notion creates FOMO and that's not how investing works. Intrinsic value takes time to mature and numbers usually don't lie. We're holding 37 stocks and Palantir isn't one of them. Could that change? Sure. We check back in about once a year with companies we're watching so stay tuned!

@@Nanalyze Appreciate your engagement and I agree. "Companies should not be involved in politics/geopolitics because it is a major external risk that cannot be controlled" - CCP and Xi (in his speeches) have figuratively and literally told you what will happen across the Taiwan straight. Cashflow it’s already showing red flags. I was almost blinded by its inflated cashflow from stock based compensation. Not sure what is CFO doing. They are supposed to be the ying and yang of a company. You want ambitious Ceo but also a cfo to pull back some of the Ceo goals by being disciplined.

Cheers for the comment! We mainly focus on revenue growth for disruptive tech companies. SBC helps them attract talent and aligns incentive, provided it's reasonable - not Gingko Bioworks "760 million for two people" compensation levels. With 80% gross margins and $2.6 billion they have plenty of runway and ability to achieve profitability.

Analysts said they don't expect that press release to move the revenue needle - the 15% growth expected for this year. All the people on Twitter who have group wanks every day about a single stock need to start distinguishing between press releases and actual results. Let's see if guidance gets raised or if this reflects in added revenue growth. And it's not good news for us because it increases government reliance when we're wanting to see commercial become the majority.

In a version of the world where globalisation declines, economic wars and sanctions, Palantir does not need to adjust their business model. Does Russia use Microsoft still? Probably, so my last argument is out. I also thought that if Palantir's software is so good their revenue predictions should be more accurate? Perhaps splitting the company into 2 can allow commercial growth to be less restrained by government protocols. I am a small Palantir shareholder because it appeals to the 14 year old boy in me, not because of valuations. Saying that I'm grateful for a balanced video... Other channels seem to try to sell me the stock, talking about possible futures, and one does not even know how to value a stock. Thankyou for your video.
