As a wildlife biologist, I’ll tell you why we capture and release animals. It is the best way to monitor and ensure healthy wildlife populations. They are simply monitoring his health. Usually they will give carnivores a sedative, whether it be analgesia (awake and don’t feel pain) or anesthesia (unconscious and don’t feel pain; used on large carnivores like pumas and bears). Our goal is to make the animal as comfortable as possible, and to make the interaction as short as possible. This is done for population research and is the reason we are able to bring back endangered species (which we as humans caused to go endangered most of the time) back from the brink of extinction.

I didn't cause extinction. Half the animals that are going extinct aren't even in my country so "we" didn't cause anything.
@NoelLovesMakeup

@@Rat-mk6fk You’re not thinking about the broad ecological impact of global extinctions. Humans have caused millions of animals to go extinct since we transitioned from hunter-gatherers. Even then we hunted Mammoths to eventual extinction. Habitat destruction and fragmentation is the greatest cause of extinctions and is caused by humans. As well as overhunting, introducing invasive species, and pollution. Just because you haven’t directly caused a species to go extinct means animals are not going endangered and extinct…
@Rat-mk6fk

@@NoelLovesMakeup let them go extinct. From what I see humans are trying to prevent the extinction of animals. If polar bears go extinct who gives af if some monkey in the Amazon goes extinct who gives af. It doesn't change anything about how I live my life if anything it gives the government more excuses to be more authoritarian in the name of climate change and preserving species. Imagine being forced to eat bugs to save some frog in another country. You can shove your narrative up your rear.
