EASTON AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT - PALMER, PA - April 2021
Palmer Elementary School was constructed in 1951 and was used by students up until part way through the 2019 school season. In June 2019, the public was invited to an Open House at the school to walk through it one last time. The 1951 cornerstone time capsule was opened and its contents put on display. During its nearly 70 years in use, the school saw a few additions of classrooms, a second cafeteria, and gym, but otherwise very few changes after the 1960s. The stone fountains and clock faces have been preserved and are said to be preserved for display in the future construction of the new school. The school began seeing the wrecking ball in March and well into April 2021, starting with the newer section.
