My writing got ahead of my thinking. I need to add a movie theater, a Department store, a Jewelry store, about 4 restaurants, a Pool Hall, a Drugstore. The Insurance Agent, Bud Throop, was a big rock hound. All sorts of cool agates and other polished rocks on display. And the hardware store stayed up with the times, because he had a large selection of Matchbox cars and plastic models available for us Kids. And you could buy BB guns or real guns there!

When did you make the video? Looks like late Summer, based on the crops (or freshly harvested crops) I see when you are on the Pullman highway. I grew up in Palouse and lived there for probably my first 30 years. Had a Spokesman-Review newspaper route up on the South Hill, so that was fun to relive those old memories, walking that route in the early morning. Palouse was unique because there were 5 different highways leading in and out, and when I was a Kid there were 3 railroads! Great Northern/Northern Pacific/W, I & M. The Northern Pacific still had passenger service in the mid-60's. Hard to believe it these days, but I can remember Old National Bank, 3 or 4 car dealerships, a Creamery, 2 barber shops, a doctor, a dentist, 2 butcher shops, 3 or 4 Taverns, 3 Grocery Stores, a Hardware store, a shoemaker/cobbler. The list goes on, and that was right up to about 1960. There were about 100 students in the High School, and every one of us was expected to be in the High School Band!

@@OregonTropics Thanks for the quick response! What did you think about all the businesses I mentioned? Hard to believe Palouse had all that going on at one time...
