Because, even if they think West Indians are cool, they are not West Indian. It's like Canadians being confused with Americans. Most Canadians like Americans, but they don't like being confused with them. It's probably national pride, tho Panamanians _are_ proud of their roots tho.

Chuleta es una expresión que se usa en Panamá para evitar decir algo más vulgar (Chucha)...es como Miércoles que se utiliza para evitar decir Mierda.... Los gringos dicen What the heck o What the fudge para evitar decir What The Hell o what the fuck

560 comments! I can't go through all of them, but in case no one else told you, the English expression is "to pay homage to."

Hola' I just came across your video and enjoyed it. I'm an Ameriucan who just moved to Panama from Texas. Are there language apps or lessons geared toward learning Spanish that's unique to Panama? I didn't realize the many regional differences that Spanish offered. (Spanish spoken in Spain, Cuba, Puerto Rico, ect) I did just sign up with a local teacher but I'd like to get some advanced practice.

I’m mixed but still half Panamanaian 🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦 By the way, I grew up English. So I’m “standard” in Spanish knowing numbers 1-12 and hi, bye, how are you and basic stuff like that. My family would always speak Spanish and I would never understand. So now that I understand Spanish a little more, I always know when they don’t want me to know what they are saying.
