Ooops, the original recipe called for a drizzle of sesame oil at the end...

My wife adds frozen orange juice concentrate, or recently said she was going to add orange marmelade.. a kind of jelly w the orange peel in it... good techniques here Wally so well done. Thanks for sharing your recipe w us

Totally agree, this needs a more concentrated orange taste. Also I think Panda Express likely held back their true recipe. There’s no way 1/4 orange juice is enough flavor on their written recipe. I can’t get concentrated orange juice here so I’m either going to use orange marmalade or just orange zest. ✌️😀

I have added frozen orange juice concentrate to my grocery list! I have seen orange peel being used as well. My mom loves to add orange marmalade in her recipes!

Hi! Wally, I tried to cook orange chicken several times from different channel but really made me discouraged because the orange chicken is not good like Panda OC it's my favorite so I decided to just buy at panda and not to cook this recipe anymore. I'm so happy, I found your channel. Your ingredients and procedures in cooking is really good! I'll try to cook this again. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. 😊🙏God bless.

Hi. Thanks for sharing your opinions about batter vs dry coating. I don’t bother with any of the recipes that call for batter for the same reason you dry coat. Soggy. I happened upon this video and was very encouraged by pretty much all your cooking attitudes. So, thank you. I’ll be trying this out later this week. Peace

By the way, you might consider using a little dried orange peel in the sauce, or sprinkling some on the chicken pieces before dusting them. Also, try using orange juice made from concentrate but mixed with less water to make it richer to taste. Ok, bye.

What’s up Susie!? Yup I will definitely be adding orange zest for my version 😆 Unfortunately no OJ concentrate over here in Thailand. And yeah I don’t understand why the wet batter. But when I look back at the original orange panda recipe I don’t think it’s the one they actually use. The amount of OJ they use doesn’t make sense at all. I think they just want to keep their recipe secret 🤫

Love your honesty in your videos. Thank you! What type of batter do you suggest in order to get crispy chicken bites? And can I use chicken breast instead of thighs?

I prefer using less water which will create a thinner coating. I’m going to make my version of orange chicken later on. And yes you can use chicken breast 🙏 Thanks for watching Denise!

The orange peel used to make fruit cakes would be excellent in this recipe. It is hard to find other than at the bulk food store at Christmas time.

Hmm that’s not a bad idea. I could use dried orange peel to marinade chicken too. I can definitely find dried orange peel here in Thailand. I was thinking about orange juice concentrate but not available here. Thanks for the advice Louise 👍

😀 For this recipe I used box orange juice. When I make a née one I might use fresh squeezed and orange zest.
