He did hurt himself. From years of jumping off amps, drum risers n etc. He hurt his back. He went through years off pain which he got addicted to painkillers then moved to Heroin. This is partly what caused the Pantera break up. Hes now clean n performing much better than he has in last 10 years or better.

Didn't dime and Vinnie say that didn't actually happen and he just got addicted to heroin?

It's sad that he moved to painkillers and the heroine because he couldn't handle the pain anymore in his body.

Becoming is one of 5 songs that *NEVER* left the Pantera set list. Arguably their greatest song. A great drumming track & Dimebag really found himself with the squeals. This song is a perfect representation of the band and their sound. As for Philip he is still the greatest FRONTMAN ive ever seen. No one, and i mean NO ONE controls a crowd the way he does. Ive seen most of the great frontman (Gillan, Plant, Osbourne, Patton, Cornell etc) and nobody engages a crowd the way Philip does.

FYI that outro that they threw onto Becoming when played live was the end of another song of theirs, Throes of Rejection, from the same album, Far Beyond Driven.

This is the exact comment I was looking for. I actually didn’t catch it until my head started going to Planet Caravan as the next song on the album but realizing Becoming is the second song on the albums o something must be off. Pantera was great about pulling that shit on you. Dom/Hollow. CFH/Cat Scratch Fever.
@TheRealShano

@@adamgilmore7081 they also used the end of By Demons Be Driven as an outro for something else live ... will have to listen to 101 Proof again as I can't remember which track it was for.

All them amps and only one of them is mic’d, the wall of amps is to make it look like all that sound is coming from all of them. Which is a theatrical value of a show like that
