I had the companion game “Armor” for this series back in the day. They’ve simplified it a fair bit I think from what I remember. My friend and I loved this system 30 years ago. I’m enjoying your play through immensely.

So, the suppression really didn't do anything since the Russians fired 2nd in the turn? A lot of fun watching the action!! Nice shot on the BU!🔥
@RoughSwordsmanWargamer
2 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for the comment! The suppression stays on for a minimum of 2 turns (when 'off' you have to successfully roll to remove it). So yes, it depends when in the turn you get suppressed. If a side hasn't fired and is suppressed -ve modifiers occur.

Great fun. After all that wasting shots by both sides (incredible), the highlight (spoiler alert) of the game so far occurs: Russki gunner shows the whole lot what an expert gunner is capable of ... "Easy. Easy comrade gunner. Fire!" And another Heroe of the Soviet Union is born." Check at 21:02 Wargaming can be such wonderful fun. Love your enthusiasm when gaming. PS (edited): 5 mins later a gunner from the same Russian tank squad thinks he can do even better than his exemplary comrade ... Loud Russian "Hurraaaaaahs" can be heard across the battlefield.

Argh... Rough man, I was so looking forward to these but just can't warm to Panzer, even if it should be right up my street. I will have to stick with Patton's Best, just wish it ran on a proper map like this one (though less hideous!). I'll keep watching though, the presenter isn't bad! 😉

@@RoughSwordsmanWargamer As far as soloing two-player games goes, I might give Fighting Formations a go one day if I can get hold of it. CounterProductive's idea of reverse seeding the matrix looks helpful for that. Be interesting to see that on your table one day too! 😉

When the top Soviet platoon shot at the top German platoon, you did not make the Soviets fire uphill, only at long range, if I am understanding the play.

Thanks for this and previous great videos. Only the command Move on top apply to modify To Hit -2? It isn’t necessary to have a Spot move? By the way what is the name the gatchet to check the LOS? Where can I found it?
@RoughSwordsmanWargamer

Hi Luis and thanks for the comment. Only the command 'Move' on a target gives the -2 to hit. The spot move is used for the spotting phase. I play this wrong in the first video (corrected in the second). I hope to continue this series very soon! The LOS tool is made by The Army Painter and is called 'Targetlock Laser Line' - I got mine from eBay. :-)

@@RoughSwordsmanWargamer Wow. I mean, most wargames are set on planet Earth. Won't that offend someone somewhere who lives on this planet and doesn't like war?
