After a three-gap due to Covid, the 2022 Hunterfest returned to St Stephan airfield, deep in the Bernese Oberland mountains, on 20 August. Over the intervening period one of the preserved Hunter T.68s was grounded and placed on display at Altenrhein Museum and a second sold to new owners in The Netherlands. The two remaining airworthy Hunters in Switzerland, F.58 J-4040/4015 'Papyrus' and T.68 J-4201 were scheduled to perform at the 2022 event but the latter was withdrawn due to an ejection seat issue. Papyrus remained serviceable and gave three excellent displays on the day. Listening to the sound of the Avon 207 echoing round the mountains made my hair stand on end and is probably the best part of the video.
