The kings of Navarre weren't basque, they claimed descent from hispano-roman nobility and spoke a dialect of iberian romance close to castilian, their names/surnames did have some basque influence but that was the case with castille aswell (Garcia, Íñigo, Ximeno)

I'm planning an overhaul of the HRE soon... want to probably use the superfaction mechanic to make Cologne perhaps the "Senate" and the rest independent factions belonging to the HRE (Saxony, Austria, Bohemia, Verona, Milan, Venice, Genoa, Pisa, etc.). First of all, its really incredible what you've been able to accomplish here and I must say, as someone who loves history, your commitment to historical accuracy and trying to portray historical circumstances of the medieval age is extremely admirable and will make for some epic gameplay. Just some food for thought: I'm not sure about the capabilities for Rome Total War Remastered engine/A.I. but is there any way to make warfare higher risk/reward? Basically less armies, more expensive armies, and more extreme consequences for victory or defeat? I feel like a lot of Total War campaigns begin to drag out when you're just ramming up against enemy armies over and over again and crushing them. But if battles were more rare and more decisive (as was historically the case) then the campaigns might be more fun and engaging imo. I'm a total war veteran and often I feel the battles in campaigns feel so common place they kind of lose the "epic-ness" that real battlefield engagements would have had because each field engagement in real life was a huge risk. What would it look like if: armies were assembled for high cost very quickly (0 turn recruitment). When units are on campaign after being recruited they receive something similar to Medieval II's Crusade desertion mechanic; maybe using in-game disease mechanic to simulate war/exhaustion/desertion/attrition? Thus armies can only stay in the field for so long before being depleted completely (as opposed to current mechanics with standing armies). This way, when you defeat an enemy on the battlefield you deal a devastating blow to him, but you as the victor are still battling time before your own army starts to deteriorate as well. Campaigns would have to be very deliberate, and planned, and fighting on multiple fronts (or a surprise attack from an unexpected enemy) would be extremely taxing. I don't know if this would necessarily be better, but I feel like a lot of grand strategy games (paradox too specifically) and Total War in particular have this issue of "too many battles = battles being less important" which is why so many of these games revolve around sieges so heavily. Rome Total War's engine runs on a "standing army" model which doesn't really make sense with the medieval era.

Yo, I know this is irrelevant from this vid but I use vanilla mod in TW Alexander. Sometimes it works sometimes it says some units are missing such as "indian elephants" or "Greek_officer tga" how do I fix that? And also sometimes mid-campaign it crashes my game during a siege (after playing it for like 30+ mins) (also added the v19 patch) and for Rome TW BI Xtra cultures 5 does the same thing missing units then crash after 30+ mins of gameplay. Would love to know how to fix it since this is my first time ever using mods.

@@GudeaTW Full name of the mod I mean: RTR: Imperium Surrectum mod for Total War: Rome Remastered. The same mod team made "Roma Surrectum III" for the original Rome 1. The battle graphics in that mod are the best ever. I don't know why did they do illumination so bad for Remastered. Everything else is OK, just the illumination is saturated. I changed the settings following their instructions, to no avail. And I think I'm doing it ok, because I've seen videos of the battles in KZitem and it's the same horrible illumination for them. I can't see units details, the illumination is too shiny (saturated) in some zones and too dark in others, etc....

I fee like portucalense is an appropriate name for the area since that is how it was known at the time, the county of Portucale or Portucalense as a reference to the corty of Portocale nowadays just known as Porto or Oporto, from modern perspective it may seem a bit odd since Portugal eventually became the name of the entire country but in its origin it still is a reference to the county that was stablished in the area around Porto.
@josejoaquim4344

@@Atromboniste Portucale I can tolerate but Portucalense makes no sense since it means "of and/or relating to Portucale" instead of actually meaning that land specifically. It would be like calling the land of "France" "French" instead of calling it "France".
