July 28th 2016 - A paraglider crashed on Woodside Mountain near Agassiz just after 3:00 PM
The paraglider struck a tree and fell about 150 ft with last 6o feet a free fall to the ground. The patient a SAR member, BCAS paramedic, Whistler Ski Patrol and Vancouver HUSAR TF-1 member was able to communicate to rescuers which assisted in the rescue effort. Kent-Harrison SAR, Chilliwack SAR, BCAS, Agassiz FD & the RCMP responded. Crews performed a long line rescue and brought him to a waiting medevac crew where he was treated then transported to VGH.
