Hi, I’d been on the beach all day and monitoring the air, it was very buoyant with a steady laminar none thermic 16mph wind speed and forecast the same until late evening before slowly reducing. The chances of it switching off from 16mph to 0mph were none existent as I could see slight white horses out to sea, which gives me an indication of increasing winds (20mph or more normally) and around 10 to 20 minutes warning so I can land safely if the wind increased. As I’m used to flying low on speed wings I can assure you the buoyancy felt on my paraglider was the reason you see me flying like I did, close, low and controlled (I’m not reckless) I always had an escape to the right and 40ft height to turn into wind for a safe landing on the empty beach. Even if it instantly switched off (which it never does) I could have safely landed on the beach to the right. P.s. Not having a pop at all, I see your point given your lack of weather information on that day, I’m just stating my thought process and facts so you can understand everything I did that day was evaluated and every eventuality in my control was taken into account. I like to have fun (in the safest manner possible) Thanks Nigel

@@flyinghigh22 Yes I'm always open to learning from other peoples experiences cheers. Yes it was slightly off and there was a lower lift band downwind leg that I took into consideration. I'm used to flying faster speedwings so a paraglider feels like I have ample time to react in comparison, I always have an out whilst flying. My "out" on this occasion would have been a fast skid onto the empty beach. Thanks Nigel

@@nigelhawkins I just came back from east coast this weekend...total dream to hit the big cliffs....sketchy as mind (in my opinion) as no top landing lip rotor and massive rotor d/w (not enough height), and no bottom landing due to massive rocks on beach.....only option is back to the sand beach. The deeper in you go the more exposed you are to a sudden change in direction or strength (gulp). Eventually you hit a point of no return lol kzitem.info/news/bejne/zKmNl5V-fWt_mGk

@@flyinghigh22 Great video and yes I totally see what you mean regarding deeper you go & point of no return plus huge rotor on those...! Excellent RSPB decking at the end. Bempton Cliffs RSPB is beautiful.
