When you talk about turning radius in thermals I struggle to find anyone who gives actual dimensions. I understand thermals can be different in size and strength but are there general rules of thumbs that can be used?

Lets say 50m is super tight, 100m is average and 200m is big flat turns

Thanks for another great video! As a thermal beginner (I only got about 100hours thermaling) I find it very intimidating to go to cloud base, I very often abort my climbs well below cloud base. Do I have to be extra careful when reaching for cloud base? Any tips?

Hey Pierre! There's a few things to consider, but you shouldn't be afraid of it. I have a video titled "Cloud Suck and Cloud Flying 101" - it covers all that stuff! Check it out and lmk if you have further questions!

Pitching forwards and back for me was quite unnerving - I had a week in Spain recently and got quite nervous under the wing when hitting quite punchy, rowdy thermals and being bounced about - I guess it's securing the skills to be better at active flying but a few times I felt as though the flights were introducing me to my mortality...! Any tips on getting over these nerves and having increased confidence in the wing and skills...? Love these videos - so helpful for new pilots and experienced pilots...🪂🪂🪂🪂🪂
