Thank you so much for these tutorials, they are really helpful 🙏 I have some new questions, probably some are pretty dumb 🙈 Speaking of wet wing, how/where to do dry it. It’s not really small. And is it necessary/recommended to wash it from time to time, to keep it pretty 😄 When you wrap the brake, you also walk to the wing? How tough can you be on the wing before damaging the connection points of the lines? Is this something you get to feel with time? I personally fear damaging something and I don't put force on it, I treat it as something pretty fragile. Does this mean less control? Thanks again Peter 🙂
@PeterHoldy
2 жыл бұрын
Hi, you can dry your wing at home in any room. You do not need to spread it all out flat, just make sure it is completly outside your bag and open leading edge so air can go inside cells as well. More you can open it then it will dry quicker. If you have small room just dry it on stages , bit be bit. Hope this make sense for you. Wash glider only with fresh water and use soft sponge as rough sponge will destroy surface of your wing. Do not use any washing up liquids or any chemical ! Just little warm water! Wash any dirt gently cell be cell. It is long process but rewording 😁 If you drying your wing outside, let say in day time in your garden then place your wing in to the shadow as Sun producing UV which slowly destroying surface of your wing. So less exposure to direct Sun light while you do not flying will reduce surface ageing of your wing. Lines of your wing are extremely strong so no worries to pulling them hard. Lines doesn't like to be dragged over ground as sharp edges of rocks could damage them or snap them. So if you Ground Handle your wing and something go wrong then use 1 brake and wrap it until glider stop pulling you. You won't destroy lines this way so no worries. As your experience grow then you become more gentle to your wing as well 😉 Hope i answered some of your questions 🤞

"don't care about other people, care about yourself"...Exactly, in this case. ;-) I like your "turn over" technique reversing the as and brakes and side walking slowly, beats the heck out of unhooking and re-laying it all out. @16:07, then the laydown....LOL You are a comic with a wing! Can you concertina fold it, too, just with the lines? I've never seen anyone else use the single brake line like that to pull the kite sideways on a drag. Makes good sense since it is ALREADY in your hand. I REALLY like that idea, and will try it.
@PeterHoldy
5 жыл бұрын
🤣 you see if i won't care about other people like in this case you won't able to see this video 😁 some people using quick pack bags for wings. So they just stuck wing together by lines to mushroom shape and stuck in. I always do concertina. Just play always with wing before flying and you will master GH ! Take care 👍
