Voltage is compared to a hill, electric potential energy is compared to gravitational potential energy, and radiant energy is compared to kinetic energy. In this comparison, the battery is like a lift. The lightbulbs are like drops. The electric current is like Sargent Drop on a snow board. No matter what hill Sargent drop goes down, he loses all his gravitational potential energy. No matter what lightbulb the current goes through in a series circuit, it loses all its voltage.
