This guy must have been soooo scared. EDIT: Those saying everyone should be treated equal... well of course... but put yourself in this guys shoes! I'm a certified ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) provider. He wasn't 100% wrong when he said a flatline means no heartbeat but I will say you do not have to be in a flatline to have no heartbeat. There are other rythems that may or may not produce a heartbeat but are still considered cardiac arrest vfib and PEA. He didn't do a good job explaining that you can have organised electrical activity on the monitor and still no heartbeat. You can also have a heartbeat and no pulse. He probably should have explained better.

To all of you pointing out that why is important that the paramedic identify he is treating Micheal Jackson...You obviously dont know how cross examination and trials work. When a case is being litigated...questions like that are always asked. Did you know you were treating Micheal Jackson? Its not that celebrities are treated differently but in court every detail of what happened is analysed thats why that question will be asked. If for instance the paramedic was called to an accident and it turned out the injured person was his child or relative...if the case is being litigated in court he will certainly be asked...did you know the person you were treating was your relative?

what im understanding here is that once these paramedics showed up, they saw the physical body of Michael Jackson and realized he wasn't going to make it. yet they still tried. in paramedic school they teach us about lividity.. pooling of the blood when the body is no longer able to be revived. for him to want to stop cpr must have meant that he knew michael was far too gone.
@GoldenTyga117
5 жыл бұрын
Lividity takes HOURS and hours to show up so he wouldn't be showing signs of that. I don't know their protocols or to what extent they can just look and decide not to resus a patient. I know here in Canada there's a list of things for which we can call a Code 5 and not even touch the person.....like if there are signs of rigor mortis....if there's lividity, if there's brain matter outside of the skull....stuff like that. Where it's obvious that the state of the body or the severity of the injuries are incompatible with life. But in this instance they did whatever they could to resus him.

Wow, so many people don't understand what exactly is happening here. The prosecutor wants to know if the paramedic behaved professional, so that the defense cannot question the professionality of the paramedic. But she has to form her questions in a specific way, so that he can simply answer them. But the paramedic's professionality serves the state in this case - so why would the prosecutor "expect" unprofessional behavior from him? She wants to hear just the opposite!

BAD mistake - an absent heart beat does NOT mean "a flat line"!!!! An absent heart beat, by palpation, can be due to ventricular fibrillation, and that is not a flat line on ECG. The term "flat line" is another way of saying cardiac standstill, or asystole - absence of activity

A reading of ventricular fibrillation is one of only TWO shockable heart arrhythmias. Meaning that the monitor would have shown VF and would have advised to shock. Asystole is the medical term for flatline. Despite what dramatic tv shows and movies portray you cannot shock a heart that is in asystole into beating normally. For people reading this who don't know....shocking isn't to "jump-start" the heart into a normal rhythm....shocking basically stops a heart that is quivering (ventricular fibrillation) or beating wayyyyyy too fast (ventricular tachycardia) in the hope that it will sort of stun the heart into beating normally again. Michael jackson did do dangerous sh** with his propofol habit how ever it has been well determined Michael jackson could of been saved if oxygen was administered properly also if cpr was done correctly maybe if Murray never left jackson alone for 47 minutes and then be claims from 10;40 to well past 12pm he was attempting recitations before 911 was finally called. So first Murray did cpr for God knows how long on Michael's bed which is idiotic. Second, if he would have just called 911, maybe just maybe Michael jackson would still be alive. Heck, Michael may have been able to hide his drug habit if he just used an infusion pump rather than winging it through Murray You are correct that this was a cocktail from hell, but Murray aa a doctor, should of never taken Jackson's case much like most doctors did.

Maybe had they reversed the propofol with narcan and continued cpr they could have saved him. Chest compressions keeps blood circulating breaths continue to provide the oxygen. Should have kept going and reversed it.
@nlsnat8573
Жыл бұрын
I wonder if, had the paramedics been able to administer the Narcan intranasally, he would've been saved? Meaning they'd be using current-day protocol of sticking it up someone's nose to stop an overdose. That process had been cleared/approved by the FDA in 2015, so had this had happened then, or any time since, I'd imagine their procedure might've be a little different. How that would've affected the outcome of survival here I really do not know, but everything about it just makes me feel like their were other players in this situation. No sane doctor leaves a room for 40+ minutes without coming back in once in between to check on a patient. By the time they arrived, over 2 hours could've elapsed since he stopped breathing.

That means he was criminally negligent. No doctor will give propofol outside of a hospital, no doctor will give propofol without assistance, without proper equipment, no doctor is stupid enough to not call 911 immendiately, when found his patient not breathing and with probably cardiqc arrest. It wasn't like "oh dr Murray just left the room". It's the part of professional care that you cannot leave the patient when drugged with propofol til the minute the patient properly wakes up from it. That's the rule. A doctor has no other things to do, when watcing the patient, his job is to watch. Or get professional assitance, who will help him watching the patient.
