This flight was from yesterday, and was so great I had to post it today. There are recorded previous flights that I will get posted later.
Todd had a great idea to do an XC to an area we have never flown. We launched from Spartan Park, but went to new territory. I arrived to the Park first, so I was already in the air when Todd arrived. Todd launches around the 27:00 mark. Since it was Todd's idea to do the XC, I let him lead the way.
Flew near Knights Recreation Center and the Route 66 Drive-In. Not many people at Knights, but cars had started pulling into the Drive-In.
That area we have a ceiling of 1800ft MSL, which is around 1,200ft AGL. It was hot yesterday. Around 93 degrees at launch. And 85 degrees at the ceiling. It's so awesome flying in a tee-shirt again! And no gloves is so much better than needing to use gloves.
There were important public sports games going on all over Chatham yesterday, including Spartan Park where we launched. So besides doing a flyby or two, we kept our distance to not be a distraction.
My PPGps malfuntioned and didn't properly record my flight, but Todd recorded his flight on FlySkyHy did work, and he recorded a 36 mile flight. I flew for 27 minutes before he got there, and I pretty much followed him for the XC, so I must have gone around 45 miles yesterday. Longest XC yet. But I can't really count it because I don't have my own data.
And I finally messed with my trims, and went to full trims out for the flight. Not sure why, but I've just been so nervous about adjusting my trims. I usually just keep them on Neutral. I'm less nervous now that I've done it.
Fly safe, everyone! As JT Wardle loves to say, Love Laugh Live!
