5:46 - "McMillian and Wife" ....Well, someone added an extra "I"... RARE to find promos with misspells in those days. Today? Every day.

Awesome clips! I chuckled at Pardon my "Bumpers". That's what my mom told me to call "farts" when I was a kid, because she didn't like that word. :/

The announcer on "Another World" had serious microphone trouble that day. FYI, Alan Young used to do a lot of Elmer's Glue commercials after Mr. Ed.

Regis Philbin had been through numerous career ups and downs by the time of this AM LOS ANGELES promo...what would he think if you had the chance to tell him what was in store for him?

Remarkable that those of us getting into the local TV news business thought the AM LA format was going overtake the bombastic and exploitative "Eyewitness News" trend that swept the country. AM ultimately led to Entertainment Tonight and America's Funniest Home Videos, and Eyewitness News is still the ambulance-chasing hype machine that still exists 50 years later in even the smallest markets.

Going by the comments what does 'Pardon My Bumpers' mean when used in this context? Thanks for an eye-opening video again Fred! American television was really very different from British television. We saw just a few of your shows sometimes up to a decade later! The hulk was the only one on here, first shown well into the 70s and in colour. I was in my mid teens and terrified of it!

The one with "NBC, proud as a peacock!" sung over a station logo using the original, peacock-free "Big N" seemed weird to me. Wasn't that slogan introduced with the next NBC logo, with the peacock over the "Big N" -- the first time the peacock was actually part of the logo?

@@FredFlix There's a video of Kaptain Kool & The Kongs' performance on The Brady Bunch Hour here on KZitem. I'd post a link but for whatever reason, mine never seem to work. Something I'm doing wrong, I imagine. Anyway, if you want to look it up, just enter Kaptain Kool & The Kong's in the Search bar; that's how I found it. The song they performed was called "Names"; hopefully that will help. I was getting back into the group's music earlier this year(and some of the last); I find myself really enjoying it, and I hope you will, too.
