The most House thing yet? House started to enjoy being in the wheelchair and learned how to properly operate it. You can tell during the diagnosis where he's wheeling back and forth, just as if he was walking!
@amyhull754

My experience with men and wheelchairs is that it takes them about 8 1/2 minutes to learn to pop a wheelie...and only about 1 more minute than that to learn how to spin around and roll in a wheelie. I am utterly rubbish at it--even in my well-balanced, *good* wheelchair. Meanwhile, Hugh Laurie can sit in a wheelie and turn around in on in a TERRIBLE hospital-grade transport wheelchair. I swear, that man is so talented he can do anything.

At 16 in Canada if something like this happens the parents don't need to be there. @redlupo6193

Everything depends on *which* state, county or large American city you're in. Remember, the USA isn't so much in everyday practice a unified country as much as a loosely-allied group of fifty nation-states. Even within a state etc. there can be different laws of independent minor medical entitlement depending upon the exact category of medical services needed/desired. And organ donation? No matter the age, if at least one relative loudly objects to your orders and threatens legal action they become in effect mere suggestions and the hospital will most likely not harvest for fear of a multimillion-dollar lawsuit and being branded ghouls or practicing religious discrimination even if the donor has nothing to do with the objector's beliefs. In most parts of the country, your body becomes the legal property of your relatives after death just like a credenza or shoe collection because your right to say what happens to that body -- organ donation, autopsy, medical research or funeral plans -- ended when you stopped using it.
@dmf1301

I'll say what I always say for this episode, people focusing on house vs the other doctor are missing the real villain, cuddy. The hospital is massive, there is NO way the ONLY other spot she could find for house was so far away. The poor new researcher got caught in the crossfire.
@TheFansOfFiction

Exactly. The women needs room to load and unload her wheelchair and proximity to the sidewalk. House needs proximity to the door. The obvious solution would be for that large hospital to have multiple handicap parking spaces but, since that ship has sailed, the secondary solution would be to give the women the spot and give House the spot directly on the other side of the door. That way they are equidistant form the door and she has the extra room to load/unload her chair.

Nope. The mother was played by Arabella Field, who in this role indeed has a strong resemblance to Sally Duvall... the actress who played the role of Wendy Torrance in The Shining. Also Shelly Duvall is 16 years her senior and retired from acting in 2002 (this episode is from 2007)

Nothing at all, the parents are gypsies who consider his girlfriend an "outsider" not worthy of dating their son

Title should be more like "Parents aren't concerned about son's health for like a week and then they suddenly want to be overbearing" if it's gonna be about the parents lol
