It looks like they built the walls with femurs (leg bones) and back filled it with smaller bones like vertebrae and ribs etc. We just have to remember anytime we go to cemeteries, catacombs etc these were living breathing people at one time. Mothers. Fathers daughters sons...a loved one of someone.

All I could think of in the catacombs was that these were once living people who had been born, had lives and families, many probably suffered tremendously, each with their own biography of their lives. So many... To me, I consider it a sacred place, with six million stories that will always be unknown to us all. Such a beautiful resting place for those who made their mark in history. Paris is indeed unique and mysterious. Great trip for sure.

Talk about opposites between the catacombs and the pantheon and how we care for our dearly departed. Rick Steve’s did a segment on the catacombs for PBS but yours was much better and more detailed, nice job! Can you imagine how it must have been for the laborers who had to handle the bones and skulls? Fascinating and thought provoking. And last but not least congrats on hitting 32,000 subscribers!

The Catacombs are a reminder to us all of our own mortality I am sure it was a strange experience being down there. The Pantheon was massive, and overwhelming in design and art. I am enjoying the Paris trip, and excited what is still to come. As always, Thank Jordan!, and Keep up the outstanding work!

Wow those catacombs are amazing and interesting Jordan. You never know what might happens to your remains when your soul leaves your body. I bet the conversations with the families of the deceased would have been very interesting. It would have been nice to have bilingual signs. A pretty sacred site indeed! Good night Jordan and I'll be back tomorrow!!

I'm stunned by the symmetry of the bone structures that are placed atop one another, with the skulls meticulously placed. As a physical therapist, I immediately recognize the femurs and tibias (upper and lower leg bones) and how they seem to "fit" in a stack. Intelligent design in play? Truly amazing, glad I got to see this here first. Plan on going to Paris at some point (with a friend who speaks fluent French, and knows the lay of the land). Solid video, Jordan, thank you (yet again)! Viva St. Jeanne D’Arc!

Good googley moogley!!!!! How about those catacombs...... Wow! It looked a bit unsettling honestly, but your right..... It does appear they attempted to manage the bones in as much of a discreet and respectable manner as possible, as compared to their initial dumping in the quarry. As for the Pantheon, bravo Jordan..... That was a wonderful experience, and I thought your coverage and backstory for the various works of art and people of importance was fantastic. As a viewer, I was left feeling very satisfied, while wanting more. I'm looking forward to catching up on the remainder of the vlog series. Thanks again Jordan. Arthur Childs, Oak Harbor, WA. 🙂

I'm so sorry, Jordan, I am still catching up. I've been going through some hard personal stuff so my subscriptions have had to wait a bit. This was astounding. I actually thought, Wow, these bones were once living, loving, breathing people. That had to be so cathartic walking through the catacombs. I noticed a lot of skulls and femurs. What did they do with the rest of them? Makes one wonder. A lot of the art in the French Parthenon is French revolution art. It is beautiful. And, wow, Voltaire is one of my favorite artists. I would love to see it in person. And I love Joan of Arc, she was a true hero. And Dumas. What is there to say 😁😁😁. And the Currie graves. Oh I just couldn't get enough. I loved this soooo much. I have always wanted to see these very places. Thank you so much for sharing this. Really, thank you 😊😊😊😊😊. And, again, sorry I watched late. Going to watch all the others that I missed now.
