Day Trip to Paris, 3 Weeks Before the Olympics 🇫🇷
In early July, we took a Eurostar day trip to Paris, and here’s a summary of our adventure.
Originally, both my husband and I had a bit of a “Paris seems intimidating” vibe, so we never really planned to visit. But then, we figured, why not take a day trip and just casually check out a few spots? So, with that mindset, we went on a whirlwind schedule!
Since we’re both fans of French cinema, I planned our day around filming locations of movies set in Paris. But honestly, wherever you go in Paris, the whole city feels like you’re walking through a film-it was a dreamy day!
Given our total lack of knowledge about Paris, we stuck to a classic, foolproof itinerary. We strolled around Montmartre, where Amélie was filmed, admired the world-famous works at the Louvre (which now allows me to truly feel Utada Hikaru’s *One Last Kiss*), and shopped at Rouje, a store I’d long been dreaming of visiting (though I couldn’t find any clothes in my size, unfortunately).
We then took a leisurely stroll past the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower, before heading to a tea shop that you can only find in France. At first, I was a bit lost on how to buy tea, but a kind shop assistant gave us a detailed explanation, and we had a great conversation while shopping.
This experience really changed my view of Paris! I had this idea that Parisian staff would be cold, but that couldn’t have been further from the truth.
Afterward, we continued ticking off spots from our list, and of course, we had to stop for croissants. We went to Mamiche, a bakery famous for its croissants, which I’d found through the “Parisian Vibe” on KZitem. Unfortunately, by the time we got there, the croissants were sold out (in hindsight, no surprise!).
Refusing to give up, we ended up at a local bakery near the station, and I have to say, the croissant we got was a dream-crispy, fluffy, just perfect! Honestly, I’m starting to think any bakery in Paris would serve an amazing croissant. Whether it was the restaurant lunch or the bakery treats, the quality was undeniably French, and we were completely satisfied.
That wraps up our Paris travel diary ✒️
Next up, I’m planning to share a video from our visit to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, so stay tuned for that! 🪄
