Armies have marches for specific moments and units. March for the cavalry units, march for when the flag is raised every morning, march for the king or president, march for a funeral etc. there are even marches for retreat. But nobody matches the german army with their: March specifically for when our army takes the city of Paris.

Austria was the leader of Germany for centuries, then Prussia came and became it's leader from 1866 to 1945 when it dissapeared after the end of WW2. And this march was made for Francis I of Austria [Leader of the German Confederation and former Holy Roman Emperor] and Alexander I of Russia [Basically the savior of Europe]. Even the melody of the current german anthem was made for the Holy Roman Emperor, and guess what, was AUSTRIAN.

@dr.ludwig

No one ever bothers to understand what the Treaty of Versailles turned Germany into. It is very sad that the Central Powers lost the ww1. Neither the Entente or the Central powers fought for the good of humanity. The Treaty of Versailles was a compromise between hardline French, sympathetic American and neutral British.
