One thing I always appreciated about this show is the little opportunities they took to break the 4th wall here and there. And they also use to throw little good natured competitive jabs to other shows on the network at the time. Sometimes they crack a joke about Married with Children. Sometimes they cracked jokes about In Living Color.

They were refurring to Real things in Pop Culture in the early 90's. Depeche Mode, Swatches. Jonny Depp

@@JimBrave-ri1oc Right! People often never notice how rare that is. At some point in time, I guess it wasn't looked down on to "promote" products without being paid. But these guys wrote just seemingly relating to popular things kids knew. You're 100% right.

I liked this show, it's often compared to Ferris Bueller, and even was up against the short lived TV show adaptation.

And this was actually a more faithful version in tone. And the actor pulled off this Parker Lewis in the Same way Broderick did - which is something the TV Ferris could never manage. It was doomed, and this show is proof that making a great show that is comparable to a cult classic is a better option than trying to just recreate the cult classic.

It's kinda sad the fact that they ruined this show in seasons 2 and 3 but it also had a heavy influence in one of my favs of all time: Malcolm in the middle

It's because they're lazy and couldn't bother going back to the original tapes and do a new master so they decided to upload a 2nd generation VHS copy instead.@@maximusprime3459

You'd never believe this given the state of the media today, but it's fairly representative... There were thousands of schools where there were only white people. Which is also unsurprising, given that most of us were white.
