There are two very common problems encountered in general at the automotive headlights. The first annoying issue is the flaking off the wiring inside. The second one is the deformation of the bulb holder(s) - sockets, which in turn also deforms the headlight reflectors. In this video, I will address both unpleasant and annoying issues and perform a repair using most simple tools/parts.
First, I took care of the insulation of the wiring at the Audi A4 S4 B7 bi-xenon headlight. The wire insulation on almost every wire inside the headlight assembly was brittle and the insulation was cracking off the wires. Very minor movement was causing the wire insulation to fall off the wires.
Then, I replaced almost melted sidelight socket and the daytime running light (DRL) bulb holder. The deformation of the parking light and the DRL sockets at these headlights is very common. Almost 2 out of 3 Audi A4 B7 headlights (Also common at Audi A3, A6, A8, Q7; Mercedes-Benz C-Class W203, W204, E-Class W211, ML, GL; BMW 3 5 7 Series E60, E61, E65, E46, X5, X3; VW Passat, etc...) have this annoying problem caused by very cheap bulbs (W5W, P21W etc...). Watch the video to see how to replace these sockets and repair the wiring.
