I know he’s going to accomplish things to change the laws. Sometimes that’s the only thing you can do to cope with the pain- do something about what happened. And we all need to pay attention and do our parts- so this doesn’t happen to our loved ones in the future. If we just sit by and it does- it will be too late then to open our eyes for our loved ones or ourselves. Time is now for things to change.

The non-blinking eyes of the murderer screams psychosis at a deep level I cannot, nor would I attempt to assume I know his thoughts. However, as a former school principal, I have witnessed first hand that evil, soulless, blank stare. Every time, the individual would go on to commit violent crime. Kudos to the valiant father, giving voice to the corruption of the defense counsel and lying committed by the mental health witnesses.

The government stopped his services on purpose do to funding. They don’t push hard enough to keep people like this on mental health services. Trust me, I know. My entire family along with my wife and myself have mental health homes in Oregon. We are allowed to up to 5 mental health clients live with us in our own home. It’s our business but we get licensed and paid by the state of Oregon. Over the last 8 or so years it has been a battle over funding. It’s gotten to the point that some of my family members shut their doors. It’s sad because we all have been doing this type of work for over 30 years. But now our Government has gotten greedy. They don’t even care about the homeless/mental illness people all over our cities. We used to get mental health people from our hospitals. Even that has pretty much stopped. And it’s all over the funding. My family has saved this state millions upon millions by having homes like we have. They pay us a fraction of the cost of what it cost the hospitals by having them live with us. But because the state doesn’t know the left hand from the right, the money goes into all types of programs, and for some reason, ours gets pushed aside. It’s a battle all the time over money. They constantly want to cut our pay. I believe the state is doing this on purpose, cut us down to the point that we can’t run it anymore so we will all eventually shut our doors, so then it won’t look bad on them. The sad thing about it all is, we truly love what we do. Getting to help people that have problems is something that hits your heart. But we aren’t going to work for free either and that’s pretty much what’s happening now. And especially with inflation. Prayers to all involved in this senseless shooting. It really could be more avoided if people would just pay attention to the signs. 😢😢😢😢

Please. Grow up. Defense lawyers have a legal obligation to argue the facts in the best light for their client. If they don’t they can be disbarred. Getting angry at a lawyer for making an argument shows deep ignorance of the adversarial process. If the Prosecution had made better arguments maybe they would have convinced all the jurors to impose death. They failed. Thats the law. @@MoreCoffeePlease. Its fair to make an argument that the care this kid got was inadequate even if the facts support your argument that he got adequate care. Fair arguments can be incorrect. Unfair is if the defense brought false evidence of care to the jury’s attention. The fact that the family disagrees with every single thing the defense said does not make a single word of it unfair or improper or deserving of calling them disgusting and subhuman. Some of the family members of the victims did not want the death penalty imposed. Are they too evil? Calling anyone who is like minded evil makes a person look unhinged vindictive and lacking in intelligence. I have compassion for the families. This has to be one of the best statements I heard! This man makes so many good points, that Cruz basically got all that most kids don't even get ... what else could he have gotten? There is no excuse to not impose the death penalty, if that's what the victims families want🟪

The money the defense lawyers will get from this trial should bring them nothing but heartache and trouble. After all that therapy and he STILL wants to kill - doesn't sound to me that any more therapy would help. The jurors should also seriously search their souls for rendering the punishment they rendered.

OK.... first of all most states don't even have a death penalty. So life in prison usually is the biggest punishment. It's not like he's out walking the streets. Secondly, Even if Nik Cruz did get the death penalty, this would not deter future shooters because most of these school shooters kill themselves anyways. Thirdly, what the killer did was cruel, heinous, planned and calculating but the families want to disregard any mitigating factors which is also wrong. they don't care, they just want him to die.... they don't want to hear anything else. and they attacked the defense team because they won by getting this guy life in prison, they attacked the jurors, they attacked everyone who was not just saying "put this guy to death" ... Yes, I understand he came back to the victims he shot and shot them again and again, it's heinous, it's disgusting, it's cruel... but they even admitted even if he did get the death sentence, will not bring back their loved ones. This killer had so much pain and was so lost for somebody to do this. we need to look at the parents, mental health system and the bullying and everything... because if we don't there will keep on being Nik Cruz coming along including one who was just born. For Max Schahcther to say "where is the brain damage?" Let me tell you something. I had brain damage at birth from placenta abruption which caused lost of oxygen.... as a child I started school two years later due to this.... I had such bad speech problems nobody could understand me the first many years of my life... I went through speech therapy for years...I struggled in school. I had out bursts, I had attention deficit..... I ended up in a special education class for a little while. I out grew a lot of this and I can hold a job, I can drive, I can plan, I can do a lot of things but I am still slow at learning more then the average person and people can pick up that there is something that's not right...... and I get made fun of..... but I can do just about anything... so before he asks where is the brain damage just because this guy could plan things and hold a job.... think again..... Also as a child kids at school would slam me in the head because of my developemental delays... I wish I would have fought back like Nik did, he wasn't bullying kids, he was defending himself in those classes... cause I know what it's like to be born with developmental delays and be bullied starting at kindergarten on.. I also have been very immature for my age my whole life and come off to others as whacky or weird.... I would be a whole different person if the brain damage did not happen.... but I can't change how I ended up... ... My mom smoked cigarettes when she was pregnant with me. Even as an adult and even after over coming so much of my developmental delays, you never ever recover 100% and people treat you horribly..... horribly. horribly.... .horribly... with no remorse. and they sniff you out like a pittbull and know you are just different and they HATE different, they make fun of diffierent, they mentally abuse different, they mock different.... I beg for some people to live in somebody else's shoes before they ask "where is the brain damage" just because somebody is not completely mentally challenged does not mean there is not brain damage..... The minute people start talking to me and they start judging immediately, guys get turned off, people smirk and end up ostrasizing me because brain damage, the cells in the brain does not repair itself... You can grow out of a lot of developemental delays but never fully recover and the judgements are so disgusting. Everyone keeps saying there was only one juror but actually there was THREE jurors who ended up voting life in prison. When the jury was being selected , they all knew all ALL 12 had to agree to the death penalty... did they ever stop to think after hearing all the evidence some jurors did find mitigating factors? Just because the angry families don't want to hear it. ? To the people who think the poor families went through all this horror in the penalty phase trial hearing about the wounds of their murdered and injured, how they were shot and everything else but this was their choice to have a penalty phase trial to try to go for the death penalty.... their choice. The man ended up pleading guilty, they could have just settled for him going to prison and been done with this... they put themselves through this. The families did wish karma on the jurors and on the defense team and their KIDS.. This is wrong.
