You cutted wood in half. Congratulations! But when I'm doing a test I check angles if they are correct and so on. Exactly this machine was way off, 45 degrees was 47 and so on. Check 90 degree angle, vertical and also horizontal. You would be surprised. Some checking and adjustments are a must at a lot of Parkside tools. Not always but a lot of time. Another thing, you sad it's a clean cut. How clean the cut is, depends mostly of the blade and not saw itself. Just my 5 cents.

Indeed, Rok! I have a Parkside table saw as well as a circular saw and both are not accurate (angles are off). I was thinking of getting this miter saw, but given the accuracy of the saws that I already have, I will look for something else.

One thing I found with those affordable tools is that when you assemble them you need to check every screw to make sure that it is not lose. Also checking the gears for lubrication and general lubrication of moving parts is not a bad idea.

Nice review, thanks. I love Parkside! Just a couple of comments: as all non-professional power tools it relies on manual adjustmens of the angles on kind of poorly manufactured labels. It would have been a good idea if you used a speed square and a protractor in order to confirm your cutting angles, the level of cutting accuracy is very important on these type of power tools. This would have perfected your review.

@@TechGuruAndrew Nope. The good result is correct angles and so on. You just proved yourself that the saw is working and cutting. How it's cutting is another story. Very important story IMHO... "Aristos Andreou" is right.

Tips. Very important if you would like to saw with precision. (avoid torsion as much as possible)! Always choose a Miter saw with a handle positioned in a vertical line above the saw blade. Everything must be aligned, slide rails, handle, and saw blade,it is much better this way the blade will not tilt. Because there is some torsion in the aluminum housing . And choose an engine with softstart on it to prevent wear of the gear and worm shaft. It is very important that everything is aligned. Here are some examples to show how the handle must be positioned above the blade. Bosch gcm 800 sj / Bosch gcm 8 sjl / Evolution rage 3 / FESTOOL KS 60 / HITACHI C12RSH2 / Bosch GCM 8 SDE / FESTOOL KS 60 E KAPEX / Metabo KGSV 72 Xact. (This also is the case with the Miter saw without the slide rails). If you want you can test it yourself at home if there is torsion in the aluminum housing. Step-1. First you make a saw cut from +-5 mm deep in to a flat piece of wood about +- 20 mm thick to this with the normal handle positioned on the right side of the Miter saw (the wood it will remain in place until the test is completed). Step-2. Then repeat this by pushing the saw blade down with your hand (finger) on the aluminum protective cover were the saw blade is cased in. Just now only do this without the running engine. Step-3. Now you can see if the saw blade will be positioned in or next to the saw cut. If the saw blade is (+- 0,2 / 0,5 mm) next to the saw cut then there is torsion in the aluminum housing (test is completed). Step-4. therefor it is much better to choose a Miter saw with the handle positioned vertical in line above the saw blade. Conclusion: how further away the handle is from the saw blade how more chance of torsion in the aluminum housing.(don't go for that).

5:00 it's called a sliding miter saw so that you slide as you cut wider boards. All with one movement. Not stop and start again...

This was my first purchase from Parkside,i purchased the stand aswell. Needed to sort out the square of the blade and the angles, but it has been perfect since and i use it a lot. Paid £120 for saw and stand,my workmate paid nearly double that just for his saw from another brand and my Parkside works as good as his.

They are ok. mine came with a true saw out of the box, although I did adjust the compound mitre indicator position to my liking. One useful thing would be some sort of fittings (maybe using the same clamps) to allow clamping against the fence. Does a great job otherwise. Basically should do an amateur for your life. Woodwork projects to fitting skirting boards.

Hey Andrew... first of all it is nice that you did the video about this miter saw from Parkside, I did not know they had one. But, I can see that you are using this kind of power tool for the first time in your life so, a little advice (mind you this is not a criticism!). I see in the video that you are doing a number of mistakes that are so unsafe and at some point you even kinda scared me... for example you try to do some cuts while holding your camera with one hand - it is not ok even for someone that has a lot of experience with power tools because you cannot really control the cut you are making and you can get hurt. At one point you have a kickback... please see some videos about that because it is an important aspect of any circular saw and you need to know more. Also, every time you do a cut you have to wear breathing, eyes and hearing protection... When you do a cut first of all it is a good practice to try the cut before you start the saw... I mean just move the saw like you would cut and see if there is something in the way or even if you have placed your hands correctly... then, if everything is OK, start the saw, make the cut in one continuous move - not in several small steps - , then release the trigger and do not lift it from the cut until the blade has come to a full stop... I can recommend you to look Steve Ramsey's KZitem channel - Wood Working for Mere Mortals - it has a lot of great information on how to safely use power tools and a lot of great ideas about what you can use them for. In the end I wish you have fun with your new miter saw and be safe...

Verifying that a cross cut well, cuts wood, isn't very ground breaking. A new blade will cut cleanly, so that doesn't depend on the cross cut. In this case, the important bit of information would have been verifying that all advertised angles are in fact cut the correct angle, not something way off - especially at this price point. Lots of missed opportunity for someone who calls himself a "TechGuru".

Bought one today. It is usable, but every angle is few degrees off. Saw has 2 missing teeths and linear bearings are bad - move is not smooth and gaskets does not seal. Does not have soft start. Nothing on this product is precise.

So, you're using a saw to cut bits of wood? Amazing what you can do in your parent's basement - maybe get your dad to help you use it properly and actually make something useful one day, rather than producing sawdust!
