John Taylor's wife was sister to George Cannon. When John came to England on his mission he had a letter from Leanora to her brother. George wasn't home but his wife, Anne Quayle, invited him to return that evening. As he left, Anne said to her two young sons, George Q. and Angus, "There goes a man of God." Also, to this day in Columbia, Missouri they hold the Parley P. Pratt run on the 4th of July.
