Saw these guys at Telluride Blues & Brews in 2019. It was basically George Clinton and his entire family on stage, children, grandchildren, it was pretty epic!

I like to see it when Rory gets the "stank face" ... yes, and P-Funk is where a lot of hip-hop artists got a lot of their ideas. George Clinton and James Brown are two of the most sampled artists EVER.

Rory, p-funk is a wonderful rabbit hole. This group of musicians recorxed under various namez, including Fhnkadelic, Bootsy's Rubber Band, Parlet (a girl group of backup singers), The Brides of Funkenstein (differeent girl group of backup singers, Fred Wesley & The Horny Horns. Thdse a ts all released albums in the '70s, with up 6 albums a year being released severl years in a row.. From the '80s there's George Clinton (the producer of all these acts, now as a solo artist of sodts), the P-Fu k All Stars, The Sweat Band, Jimmy G & The Tackheads, The Incorporatsd Thang Band.. That sounds more like the 80s wwith drum machines and synths. I recommend you explore the '70s first.

*Rory.* Thank you 😊 The OGs 😎🔥 So much greatness packed into one band, and one tune. I picked the album version because you def needed to hear his lyrics/banter clearly. Funk not only moves...it can re-move. Dig?! Many more equally awesome tunes still to explore! Definitely Snoop borrowed heavily from George Clinton - especially from the song Atomic Dog. Lucky to have seen Parliament Funkadelic live in Detroit in the 90s with many of the greats still in the lineup 😎, and also Bootsy's Rubber Band (fronted by legendary bass player Bootsy Collins). 🔥 Loved your reaction 😊

another video I don't remember seeing yet I made a comment... showed up when Rory was checking out Atomic Dog. Nala appears at the 3 minute mark she's so little! You said Detroit, do you know Power of Zeus? Discovered them after Obie Trice sampled them in Since You Wanna Know from their song Couldn't Be Me

All the 90s West Coast G-Funk were influenced and sampled PFunk. Snoop samples Atomic Dog on Whats My Name. This song was sampled by Dre on The Chronic. (Make my shit the chronic)

George Clinton is the Doggfather... There is no modern hip hop without George Clinton and P Funk... and the genius behind it all was Bernie Worrell who was composer and did all the keyboards and is responsible for the synth sound of hip hop...

Bootsy Collins, was integral part of taking The Mob to the next level, when he came aboard in '73, bringing the one from the James Brown camp, that why he was a song writer, bass player, and rhythm aranger for them. 😉👍

Don't worry about Snoop Dogg. He led you to P-Funk. Job done. He was fed with this music in that time. He took it to his generation, but the source is still there. Explore Parliament Funkadelic where Snoop and Dre, like many other all over the world, got their Funk from. Enjoy.

"A bit shit"? You sir are definitely a Blah! You wouldn't know Funk , even if you were riding on the stankiest groove.
