Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH) is a rare, acquired blood disorder characterized by the destruction of red blood cells, leading to episodes of hemoglobinuria, especially during the night. This occurs due to a mutation in hematopoietic stem cells, resulting in a deficiency of protective proteins on the cell surface, making them vulnerable to attack by the immune system. This video addresses the mechanism, diagnostics, symptoms and treatment of Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria.
