Why is EVERYONE talking about wanting to buy this thing for 500 bucks?? Yeah I also want to get better drones for less money but do you realize what this thing competes against? 500 bucks puts it in the ring with the dji spark. No competition. 700 bucks means this thing is still cheaper than a mavic yet delivers similar performance minus obstacle avoidance gimmicks.
@psyamok3735

yup, with only 2 axis gimbal, no collision avoidance system, a look up feature that may never use.... a big non ergonomic remote control, even $499 is a little much.
@Chretze

The 3rd axis is digitally stabilized and it's the axis that needs the least stabilization. That out of the way, what drone that's currently on the market has 3d stabilized camera that pumps out 4k images AND obstacle avoidance for 500 USD? Genuinely curious what makes you people think you're experts in product pricing.

I have been flying drones such as parrot bebop, dji p3 standard, and the dji Mavic Pro for the past 7+ years and I have never crashed. I also fly with obstacle avoidance off most of the time because I find it does not allow me to get cool shots close to objects. I feel like I have gotten lucky. Great video billy!
@bernzeppi

Having edited many drone video shots I think the ability to look up is, hands down, the winner feature. So many times client and film makers want to look up at a building, tree or whatever from ground level then fly up and over it. This is why I would suggest this drone is more interesting to professionals... that shot! And that shot failed is what all drone operators deliver and I have to deal with it. Obstacle avoidance etc is not that much of an issue, it’s the shot. So, so far, my finger is poised over the ‘buy’ button until more reports of users come in.

The more companies who make drones the better for us, better and cheaper drones . But dont think this is one of them, looks to cheap and tacky like its a prototype or something . @pilotgeorge2000

Doncaster Drone Flyer i think prototype is a really weird term. Parrot has been making drones for a LONG time. And as someone who had to choose between Bebop 2 and dji phantom, I can say that as far as flight performance goes, parrot Bebop 2 wipes the floor with dji, but it's camera just couldn't compete. It looks to me like they took a Bebop and rebuilt it to better compete with dji. There's nothing flimsy about the Bebop and parrot has great customer support, so I think the serious love people give to dji might be a bit misplaced. They're great drones, but they're definitely not the only option.
@tynelittledyke6909

yeah thats my point , dji are good drones but this drone is 2 years to late . i had a bebop with skycontroller was good bit of a pain in the ass with its built in storage and size but was ok . my point is it looks like parrot and other company's are just letting dji get bigger n bigger showing no signs of competition . lets face it would the vast majority of people spending £700 on a drone get this or the mavic air

I find myself surprisingly excited for this product. In the past I have said I won’t buy anything from Parrot due to bad experience with reliability/customer service, but this looks exciting. 60 or at least 48 FPS would be great for 4K but I’ll take HDR over that any day. One thing that worries me is the third axis being digital only. I’ve seen the implementation in other video and it looks a bit iffy. There is a bit of added judder effect as the 3 axis is corrected digitally so I’ll hold fire until I get some proper reviews. Another thing that interest me is the input lag on the transmission over WiFi. High lag and no collision sensors could be a bad idea. I never rely on the sensor but sometimes I use the distance readout for reference where it’s impossible to do it first hand. Nice review for the time you had with it. 👍
@MontanaMichael

I can tell you first hand from experience and as a primary source of information while using both drones regularly and engaging with both companies....I will assure you Parrot's customer service decimates DJI's so called customer service. Parrot has gone out of their way to help me with repairs or replacements under warranty where as DJI is nearly impossible to communicate with. Thank you Parrot for being awesome. Having a Parrot drone with 4k not to mention the amazing Flight Plan (favorite) and the 3D rendering...I may finally be able to be completely satisfied with my UAS and its company! I can feel my spider infused Mavic getting nervous.

Totally agree, "obstacle avoidance sensors could be handy, just in case". They aren't a must have and the second you start relying on them to keep your drone safe is the moment you are surely going to damage your investment. They would have been nice, but I like the +90 gimbal and 21MP/4k camera more than obstacle avoidance. Great video Billy. Thanks so much for taking your time to thoroughly share your thoughts. Well done my friend.

Also love that DJI has serious competition in their portable drone market. Camera quality is everything in this "space race" for the best drone at the moment. Hopefully this one is better than some of DJI current offerings, even if it isn't as high a frame rate. 30fps is still more cinematic than 60fps, but doesn't convey the intensity of action nor does it have ability to look good in slow mo

I mean you get so tired of all these rich people be able to buy these drones and it's ridiculous and it needs to stop you know it really does pair it should lower this to where people could buy it or anybody could buy it now not just the rich people because $699 that's a ton of money I mean hell that's my damn monthly fee so to speak for my disability so ridiculous

I'm calling it - less than one year from today Anafi with spare batteries and controller will be selling at $499 - this as a result of additional DJI drone new model and mavic pro /spark upgrades and potentially an entirely new competitor entry. I like Parrot giving DJI some competition - in the end thats good for the consumer, its just this is a fairly weak effort from advance tech standpoint especially as its responding to DJI products that launched >6 months ago .

It would be nicer if Parrot would have used a little bit larger battery. The Bebop 2 used a 2,700 mAh the Bebop 2 Power used a 3350 mAh battery. Im sure the 2700 was used for balance and to keep the size down. Now the Range is a jump I know my Parrot Bebop 2 has a max range of 1.24 miles (2km). So a range increase is nice. That gimbal, I just done know it looks flimsy. The props looks really small. I wish Parrot would get away from Wifi. You get a bridge of steel in the mix.... your signal is lost even if you are a couple hundred feet away from your drone. Yes, its happened to me and its scary. That wifi antenna looks small. I like my antenna on the skycontroller. Some of the software parrot has is pretty nice. I do like its functionality. That weght is pretty light. Considering I've flown a bebop 2 in 20 mph winds. I watched as the cross wind pushed my drone. It flew forward but at a 45 degree roll. Not sure how ANAFI will do in the wind.

It's not a 3 axis gimble... it's a 2 axis and yaw motions are digitally stabilized... only testing will tell if the digital stablization is equvilant to the mechanical stablization of other drones

Billy Kyle yeah I heard you clarify later on and didn't get a chance to edit my comment... I'm not a big fan of digital stabilization, it usually produces artifacts and warping in the video... Its a 21 Megapixel sensor but it probably uses up some pixels on the edge during video to generate the yaw stablization

I've still got my Parrot Bebop 2 although it's not been flown since buying the Mavic. If I had the money I'd think about buying this one.

Very good and informative video. I don’t mind the length of your video because you’re giving so much detail. Also it makes me feel better about my 15 minute videos lol. Thanks for the information. Keep it up.

Sensors would of been a really smart bet, but oh well. Great video Billy, hope you’re having a great summer buddy.

Billy, any tips on how to team up with companies in order to review their products? Would love to start doing reviews and branching out, thanks in advance-
