Progressing with our look into the characters of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, today we focus on Tom Parsons, Winston Smith's anxious and unlikable colleague and neighbour.
Acting as somewhat of a foil to Winston, he is often intepreted as the typical, unthinking Outer Party member, but is there more to Parsons than first meets the eye? Is he simply the fool of 1984?
