If you click "SHOW MORE" in the description above your be able to see Links to the Tools 🔧🔨🔧 I use. Also Clickable Chapters📋 📙 throughout the video and other Links 🎬 that may be of interest. I've had a few viewers request where they can buy the tools they see in some of my videos but it's not very clear that the "SHOW MORE" tab has a lot of information in that may be of interest. Admittedly the amazon links are associated with me and I would earn a small commission which helps towards keeping the channel funded.

@@CoatsandGaiters No, youre right- they have had a kick up the arse but I used to work as an advisor/consultant. They even had a budget for washing the cars of the staff!! I was told once- 'You cant say that- We're the BBC! (at a meeting) I said- I can and I just did- its a safety matter and I know what im talking about!. They didnt like it and as far as I know, they ignored my advice.Years later- they moved out.

@@patrickjmorgan We gave live TV up a few years back and stopped paying for the licence and that has shown me what the BBC are really like. I have a threatening letter every month from them telling me I will be investigated, I must do this, must do that etc etc. I know the law and don't watch live TV or iPlayer but that doesn't stop them constantly bullying me with letters. I welcome a visit from them but knowing the elderly will be getting this same bully boy tactics really disgusts me about the BBC. I'd never watch them again now.

Hi Rusty Rover. I can only ever be honest, it's just the way I am. Strangely I'm not into cars at all so I have no loyalty to any of them and say it as I see it. Ironically my only interest is using the tools to mend them. Think that makes me pretty unique and weird at the same time haha. If I could afford one I'd buy a supercharged R50 but then if I could afford one I'm not sure I could bring myself to pay over £300 in road tax. But I do enjoy driving fast so that would be the car I'd buy and I think it will go up and up in value to boot. I think it was the last of the great cars when cars were made for the pleasure of the customer but then it changed to all about the environment and emission's . Admittedly that is important as none of us want lung cancer etc but I think the fun aspect of the car died out from 2007.

@@CoatsandGaiters thanks for the honesty once more, you have a very good way of simplifying what can seem like a mammoth task. Many you-tubers skip over important items to get viewers. Keep going you have a very unique and educational way 👍

@@rustyrover3808 Thank you for that Rusty Rover comments like that make all the work worth it. Must say I would have liked a few more viewers for the work load but hopefully that will come in time. I'm trying to avoid tacky tactics to get more views and keep thing honest.

Thank you AA ZT. Will be interesting to see how this one compares but I must say I can't see how the R50 with a super charger can be beat overall as a true quality classic. Something feels cheap about this one.

@@CoatsandGaiters you are right , everything looks poor and bad quality, the body the metal ,the engine, the interior plastic , it's amazing the amount of rust under the car ,sheep paint or bad metal , im sorry mark i hate those cars hhh , but i love watching your videos keep going , and hope you got an R53 superchared one , very classic solid car

@@aazt5792 I'd love an R53 but way out of my budget lol. I only buy these non runners as they are in my price range haha. I don't think I could bring myself to pay over £1,000 for a car, maybe an R53 I guess I might (if I could). I was told that the second generation MINI's were built better but to be honest I haven't seen it yet. Like you say the interior dash is cheap and tacky compared to the R50 and I'm sure that paint is half the thickness. I think they might be more comfortable on a long run over the R50 but I won't be able to confirm that unless I can get it sorted and through an MOT. As long as the engine works I will be happy to drive it till it explodes. I really have no love for cars anymore. I just enjoy trying to mend them without spending any money on them. I'm a strange person.

Thank you Michael. I'm hoping if it is oil starvation that not too much damage has been done and if I clean all the oil passageways out it might be ok.

Showing the basics before you start making a mess of the palce- Like it! I clean the engines and area likely to be effected in a similar manner. Gunk and a light wash off with water. Makes all the difference to be able to see oil leanks etc. Diesels are still the work of the Devil to me- I know nothing about them. Ive had a few, still got one- but not confortable with them. I replaced the glow-plugs on my Musso - but that was an easy engine- 5 cyl tractor. No turbo.

Hi Patrick, to be honest I've never worked on a diesel other than doing oil changes on them. Normally they just seem to work and never need tinkering with. This one definitely needs tinkering with as I've just dissected the oil filter for the next video and it's not good !!! I guess I have done a couple of turbo's on them but never actually touch the engine in any meaningful way.

Have to agree. The centre dash reminds me of cheap plastic children's toys. The R50 has a much better quality feel to it. I think the R50 had to be good as it was the start of a new car and had to impress.
