@@pbproclean that’s because your drill most likely had a hammer option too? In the selector wheel? That’s what happens. It’s a different kind of motor. You need a screwdriver mode only search. They are also cheaper than a hammer/screwdriver drill. And they don’t burn out. Put it on mode 1 not 2 of the speed. Job done

Ah! It was, although I turned off the hammer function but as you say the motor is different! Thanks for the advice definitely going to try again 😂

Hi Chris this has been so helpful! , how has this method done over last couple years ? I have the same reel on a freedom trolley with 60m of pole hose , and I definitely want to give this a try

Hi. Works great. I’ve upgraded the reel to be steel rather than plastic as it was warping. Now I use the steel claber metal reel, took the hand crank out and used the same 22mm to 15mm adapter and same drill bit. Fantastic and wouldn’t be without it. I now use this setup ratchet strapped to my tank. That way I have instant access to it should I need the backpack set up just swap hoses over with a ez snap fitting from tank to backpack. But the reel stays where it is. Would highly recommend doing it this way. You will save hundreds of pounds vs buying a electric reel and the advantage of this is if anything goes wrong. Spares are incredibly easy to find at all local stores unlike the “Professional “ reels. Which do brake

@@chrisfarri8914 I’ve been using a trolley for the last five years because 50% of my work parking is not great, but need to look after the body bit more so got a 350 L tank with a fast fill outlet, and the hose is 60 m and got pole hose pipe in the tank and with a filter so I can either take water from the tank if I want to work from van or plug-in into the barrel with a push fit connector. your idea with the drill is fantastic! I quickly found reeling 60m regularly was tiresome. don’t like the idea of spending £700 for a “pro reel” so this is a really good compromise.
