Not to say Marvin's isn't good but considering how much your injectors cost it doesn't make sense to skimp on the cost of Revx. That being said, before I started using Revx I use to have a real hard time starting my 2002 7.3 powerstroke under 25F. What I found was the older injectors have a hard time with 15W40 in cold weather. I changed to 5W40 Rotella Synthetic in the winter. Now there's no loping, stiction or cycling the glow plugs. She starts on the first attempt @ 0 degrees F.

Actually I had been running Rotella synthetic in the motor and I have a bypass oil filter. I thought I was doing good for my engine but it turns out I was NOT. Rotella synthetic sucks. I added Royal Purple diesel oil after changing the bypass filter just because it was the only oil I had. In only a short amount of time the stiction had cleared up after adding 3 quarts of Royal Purple to it.

I have to agree on the Rotella comment. Mine started running like chit and hard starting not long after I used the T6 for the 1st time. I had been running Motorcraft dino previously. Will go back to that or Delo. I have read others say that these 6.0's are picky on the oil and some motors actually prefer the T6. Not mine or yours I guess!

I have never used motor craft oil but I do use the filters. I have been running Rosella synthetic for about 90,000. I recently learned it turns to thick sludge and is the problem.

I'm not ready to give up on the Rotella T6 and some folks swear by it. As a cheap 1st troubleshooting step I changed oil early from the T6 to Delo 15w40 and added Archoil 9100. Didn't help a thing. Did more research and troubleshooting and discovered I had a FICM that was down to about 35v with truck running. Had it rebuilt and I've been running like a champ ever since with the best fuel mileage I've ever had. The guy that rebuilt my power board in the FICM recommends Hot Shot Secret but I have not tried it, still on my Archoil from last change. If you run bad at 1st startup and then run much better when engine gets to operating temp it's worthwhile to check the voltage on your FICM. Actually it's an even better idea to get a monitor and always keep an eye on it and address it before it goes below 45v. I just used an old android tablet with the $5 Torque Pro app and a $13 bluetooth OBDII adapter and can monitor a bunch of things including FICM voltages, EOT, ECT, etc. For the money it works very well. Diesel Tech Ron(RIP) has a good video on the Torque app as I'm sure others do as well.

what did you end up using if anything to cure your stiction problem? Ive used archoil so far for over 1000 miles and it hasnt helped me at all. Ill be trying rev-x next.

I would love to see what would happen if you did another vid using the archoil. I'll bet it wouldn't make a lick of difference, and it would be just trowing 70.$ down a rat-hole, so much for fixes out of a bottle. - pff.

Running Marvel oil is your first mistake. Did you use the rev-x correctly or no? How did you use Rev-X? Because Rev-X does work if its used properly.

You put more in than I did. I know it will clean the fuel side and your combustion chamber. I guess I just didn't put enough in the oil. Thanks for the info.
