So does the hammer bar rest on top of the leaf spring inbetween the grip safety ?
@nobodytraining
2 жыл бұрын
Correct. You will put the leaf spring in and then start to put the main spring housing into place but not all the way. Take the hammer leg (strut) and line it up with the depression at the top of the main spring housing and then push the MSH up into place and install the pin to lock it into place. Make sure that while you are doing this that the hammer is in the up position and not cocked. Then install your grip safety and slide lock safeties.

@@madsamuraigrogan5336 I think you are going to have to tear into it. It's relatively easy to remove. Just take your time and make sure that you capture that detent and spring. Once you have them out you can see if there is any damage/broken. The Prodigy is supposed to be interchangeable with other 1911/2011 parts. So you can order from anyone reputable and if you have any doubt you can call them and verify compatibility. You can also reach out to springfield if the part is broken and they will either have you send it back to them or they may ship to you if you request. If they ship to you I don't know if the part will need to be fit to your gun. From what I saw on mine, the safety had indicators of fitment. But that could have been pre-install as well.
