As you work on these 6.6's, are you seeing the intake valves being gummed up from the GDI fuel system? Thanks in advance, and Happy Holidays!

Yes and no , nothing extreme , we have had a L84 5.3 that was pretty bad , luckily it was a cam job so I removed and cleaned heads and valves. Normally I see a little carbon on the back of the intake valve and stem no matter what the engine and year, so worst than others. I would guess a pcv catch can set up would eliminate the issue.

Thinking an L8T may be the direction I take for an OBS street truck instead of a gen 4 5.3 I originally had planned. LT2 manifold/LT5 TB and a good low lift cam should be a reliable and somewhat “budget” friendly version of a gen 5. I absolutely love this platform. Thanks for sharing the knowledge with all of us on your channel. Keep up the awesome work.

When you was shining light in ports on passenger side, looked like crack under intake ports, or is that just the way head was cast

I read the L8T is big and iron block with forged crank, does that mean a cam and supercharger could be in volved in the rebuild. I broke my LS in a 98 Vette, got a iron block and rebuilt with an even smaller pulley on the Magnuson but added forged Pistons and H Beam rods to the Iron LS1. Oh and air to water intercooler. That engine was a Beast. Seems this L8T could be such a monster. Great Project, thanks for sharing, Dennis

@@JustCantSitStill oh hell yes. If you did that for a client install is that an outrageous cost to build. Is the LT1 engine a good trade for such a build? Great stuff thanks.

@@JustCantSitStill Well that would be good to hear, Yeap I have a Gen 5 LT1, 450 HP thought I need 650 so how do you there. It have weaker Pistons and rods than the Z06 so cam and Blower likely would not do it. D

@@DennisMurphey plus 90 ish with a cam , and plus 40 ish with long tube headers you will be at 600 plus with a tune. If you really need 650 toss on a LT4 or whipple supercharger and you over 650.
