You are a God sent. If I had this room growing up in foster care it would had made things easier to just be me. I love what you are doing and I hope your friend enjoys the wonders of being a foster parent.

I agree kids rooms are powerful. Me personally, I’ve never been in foster care, but it’s so Important that people even focus on the little things. Something simple like a doll or toy as they first walk info their room could be life changing

You do know why they sew the end of carpets, right? All of that weave is going to come undone and shed all over that room and the child. If you plan on keeping that carpet, I would suggest closing the borders.

Did y’all know you can give advice in a polite way? If someone is putting all this time, energy and love into a project, maybe give them a little more than, “you did ___ wrong.” 🤷🏼♀️ This is such a generous gift to your friend and their future foster child! Looks amazing and can’t wait for part 5. ❤

I wish everyone was this considerate for the children they're fostering. My friends are foster children and I've seen and heard abt the shit they go through daily and its horrible hearing abt it. Like foster kids have already gone through enough and having some adult who's supposed to care for you give you nothing is absolutely heartbreaking- thank you for helping your friend make the kids have the nicest home they could ask for. Children deserve a childhood.

I really admire how you decorated the space with fun colors and patterns, and stuff a child would actually like. So many parents who have these designer spaces design it for their own aesthetic and end up using exclusively creams and tans because its aesthetic to them, depriving their child of color. Your design is so colorful and cute and remaijs aesthetically pleasing while being something a kid could enjoy.

as a kid that was in a foster/children home and has had trauma most my life, thank you both, but also there’s a lady on KZitem that makes shorts depicting the differences between first time foster parents and long term parents.. I absolutely woulda found some of this decorating triggering as a kid/ the half wall and abstract murals are reminiscent of a community centre/ medical space / social services boarding home and not a family home. Hope this doesn’t seem to critical it just jumped out to me straight away,

Make sure the rugs has enough grip on the bottom of it and/or weight on top of it to keep the rug in place. It can easily slip out from under you, happened to me when I was youngers (Like way back when I was 4 years old). I had an ash-tray in my hands and the rug slid out from under me causing me to shatter the ash-tray and cut my hand open (Had to get stiches).
