Cool video. I like the way you make a plan and go for it! This truck is going to be awesome. (Actually, it already is awesome!) Can't wait til I get going on my '46 Dodge WC. Thanks for sharing this project.

One thing to keep in mind when picking your seats for a pick up... Unless it's an extended cab, most buckets from any manufacture is going to be too thick in the seat back. You need to pick a bucket with the thinnest seat back you can find, otherwise, your seat back will be pressed against the back of the cab, and you'll feel like a grown man riding a tricycle. Going this route (building your own frames and mounts), it's better to go with an aftermarket seat manufacture like Corbeau, instead of trying to square peg/round hole OEM buckets.

Building my own mounts was easy........ and these seats seem to fit perfect for me! :)

For cleaning up welds try some Walter 15-L 506 wheels for your grinder, I felt they worked a lot better than flap disks.

It was a tip from Fitzee, so i can't take credit, but he was spot on, they remove material quickly, without building up too much heat.

Mr. Phill, in part 57, Seat mock-up, pt.2, you constructed and welded seat brackets for your bucket seats. How long were your 4 boxed tubing and how tall were the end mounts? I have a 1951 Chevy 3100, however, the base where the bench seat sat upon has been removed (flat floor). Any suggestions on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Keep up the good work

Nice job Mr. Phil once again you've proven that the impossible can be accomplished. I know that you're going to be very happy with your finish product, and to know you did it all yourself. I'm still watching and learning. One ? are you building a box in the cab to house your air controls and other switches? Reason I asked is because the space between the seats looks prefect for that. Man, you make it look so easy. GREAT JOB...

What's not shown in my videos is me staring at a certain task for a LONG time... thinking 10 steps ahead.......... I hate re-doing work so I'm always trying to think ahead. For the air controls.... the valves will be in the back bed...... the only controls I'll have in the cab is the digital handheld device to control the bag pressure. I'm thinking I'll have to make a custom holder for that in the dash or something :)

Man your doing awesome. I have a 51 I'm trying to restore and you make it look easy when my head is spinning lol. Where on the cab do they run the wires out for the back of the truck such as tail lights.

Getting there slowly.... I always joke sometimes it takes me longer to edit these videos than it does actually doing the work! For the rear tail lights and such.... those will run down along the frame to the rear... I'll have to figure out a way to hide them exiting the cab....

@@ShowPhil where are you exiting the cab to get to the frame to get to the rear?

Just wondering but how long did this part actually take. Just looking for a realistic timeline incase i decide to do myself

Realistically, you could probably hammer this all out in a few days..... I only work on it when I have time..... rarely do I get full days to just hammer down on anything between working full time, video editing, and other life stuff.
